Not my site so I can't vouch for it but just a nice place to start.

do you know that you can get a reman from Auto Zone, Advance, or O'Rielly for $150 and your old carb is worth $50 dollars as a core?

Re: anyone able to rebuild quadra-jet carbs?
JHOW, yes it is a nice site.
Longhorn Man, I used a guy in Euless TX near Denton. His name is Ray Bell. I don't have his number but his email address last year was remancarbs@sbcglobal.net. If this address doesn't work, he does sell on ebay. His sellers name is remancarbs. You can reach him that way. If carb is in good condition without having to helicoil threads or replace something like the base plate, his price was $125. This price included replacing the bushings someone mentioned earlier and ensuring that the carb is ready for gasoline with ethanol. This requires a certain type epoxy to close off the typical gas escape routes these carbs had. The old epoxy wasn't ethanol friendly. I do know this, the carb he did for me works better than the first one I had done by a local guy here. Maybe it was the bushings, I don't know for sure but the first one I could never adjust correctly. The one Ray did, I can adjust all day long. Good luck. I'm a pretty mechanical guy, but I would rather a pro do my carb. |
