Re: Got some work done today
Oh, just wanted to add that I just picked up some more parts from Mike at Mikes Bump and Grind Garage. He is a site vendor on here too. Super nice guy to deal with and had the best prices from anyone and good product too. Any local guys it would be worth the money you save to pick up your parts!!

Re: Got some work done today
This is about all that I have right now. Poor truck. This was taken a few months ago. I got some work done over the holidays, and have my bed on it now, it just needs a little more bodywork, paint, and assembly. The drivetrain and interior are pretty much ready. I'm hoping to have most everything done by this fall, and (hopefully) make it down to Cruisin the coast.

Re: Got some work done today
Finally got the passenger side floor welded in. Have been busy with the new job, long hours right now and finally finished my neighbors Harley Davidson paint job. Got to spend some time with the truck tonight. Still going, want to finish the rocker and kick panel before I go to bed.
Check out the air clean on this 57chevy I saw at the races. |

Re: Got some work done today
Okay more progress on my cheyenne. Finally got the rt side rocker welded in today. Fit pretty good, did not need much adjustment and got the right side fender just on with a couple of bolts. Starting to look like a truck again. Up in the air about painting the firewall the color of the truck. Told myself wasn't going to tear this one down all the way. What do you guys think. Pull the motor and paint the firewall or just black it out? Want to drive this thing painted this summer.

Re: Got some work done today
Thanks, I am not quite to the point you are Sacto but getting there. I have been searching for rust free metal and I am almost there. I picked up a tailgate a few weeks ago from board member STP67-72 and found a rust free front end a while back too. The only thing rusty now is the floors, rocker, and cab corners.

Re: Got some work done today
Progress is a good thing! Funny thing is rockers and a floor section should only take me about 8hrs to do one side but my own truck took 7yrs to do

Re: Got some work done today
This is true, however when I do something for someone it seems like it gets done quick and comes out really nice. When I do something for myself it seems if they thought process gets in the way too much and ends up taking twice as much time.

Re: Got some work done today
Carlos I say cover the motor and spray everything satin black. Get it on the road and enjoy this cruisin season. You can always come back and do the motor later...

Re: Got some work done today
That's what I keep thinking as well. I have a mechanic here at my new job that will pull it for me. I am just afraid once I pull the motor that I will have to redo that too!!

Re: Got some work done today
I see you all are throwing builds in one section. You can dump mine in there if you would like. How can I change the thread name as well as my build?

Re: Lucky 13 Trucks and Customs Build
As I made this my official build thread for my truck too, I am attaching some pictures of when I originally bought the truck. Going to convert to HEI, already have everything, plugs, and wires included. Replaced a couple of leaky fuel lines. Did a little clean up of the motor but needs to be finished. I have purchased air bags and fittings, still need compressor, valves, tank and controller. I am going to run Intro Retros on the truck. Running 22x10's in the rear with 20x8's in the front. Going to run bolt in notch in the rear. Want to save the metal floor bed, it is too clean. The interior will be COMPLETELY orange to go with the Lexus pearl white, and PPG Vibrance Metallic Orange exterior. Going to run all the factory trim and emblems as well. Running the all factory stock running gear for now while the complete posi rebuilt rear gets done and the 5.3L swap maybe the end of the year or next summer. I have the ORIGINAL title with the original owners name attached and proctecto-plate and owners manual. I have changed the front clip for another rust free unit I found too as well as a rust free core support. I picked up a nice straight tailgate too. Will keep you updated as I try to finish 3 trucks at once!!!!!!!

Re: Lucky 13 Trucks and Customs Build
Like I said, I do everyone elses but mine it always seems like. It has another tailgate on it now and the cab is all sanded and bodywork started on the cab. I have little to do to the front fenders, like two dings and one small ding in the hood. The inner and outer grille are GM NOS! I have the front bumper rechromed too ready to go. I am going to PM Mike at bump and grind garage to order me a left boxside too. Thanks for the compliments guys.
