Re: Blue Dots?

Yup, I have been stopped several times in WA for blue dots in my blue blazer. I used to carry a stock set in the back and I would tell the cops my kids put them on at the "car show" and forgot to switch them back...boy are those kids going to catch it! No I never really let my kids borrow my blazer-LOL

Now I run nothing but LED TLs and never have a problem. Red works much better than blue/purple.

That's interesting. I have a friend who is an ex po-po. He has blue dots on his 60's jeep and told me they were fine as long as the vehicle is a "classic".

Re: Blue Dots?

I got these red dot/bowtie combos, glass and stainless, from Danchuck. They have them in red, blue, amber, and clear, but they ain't cheap unfortunately. I like them though, they are just a subtle touch, and real Chevy guys notice them, as opposed to the goobers that don't know the difference, LOL!

Re: Blue Dots?

I love blue dots. I just ordered a set of glass dots from Advance auto, Mr. Gasket makes them, I'll drill out the lenses and install them when they come in. The law is pretty good around here as long as you behave yourself, of course they will slam dunk you if you are bad. We will see how it goes.

According to Parts America these are made by Mr. Gasket and they are glass. Part#5101. They also make the plastic one for $2 less. Thanks for looking out for me.

Re: Blue Dots?

I was about to jump in and say the same thang that they are plastic. But it sounds like you already looked into it.
The plastic ones are good if you want the old school look, but don't want the purple light grabbin the cops attention.

Well, I might not last too long with them but they are sooo cool I just can't stand not doing it. Reckon I'll order another set or replacement lenses just in case. Everybody had them back in the late 50's and early 60's. Gotta have them again just once even if I get caught.

I got the exact same ones on my 70 CST! I think they are awesome! Glad to see someone else had the same idea! My buddy who has a 55 Belair suggested them. Good thinking!

Re: Blue Dots?

I got my Mr. Gasket glass blue dots today. I put them in and they don't make the nice purple glow I was looking for. They are glass but they just don't have the effect I was looking for.
