Re: What did you get done? 01/14

truck related? I watched it being hauled away on a flatbed... full story here------>http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=222959

Other than that I rewired the drier and did laundry while it sleeted 2".. still have power so thats a plus, but now there is 2" of solid sleet all over everything. Looks like virgin snow until you step on it and it doesnt give, not even under the weight of a vehicle.

I am going to look at an 81-82 Dually flatbed as soon as I can... dont have a real need for a long flat bed, but I have a stack that would look killer and I definately need a truck living in the country. The mpg may kill me... will have to see..

Re: What did you get done? 01/14

Not much car or truck related to cold. I gave my brother some advice and help with putting some new rear lights in his jetta. I screwed around with my Cavy for a little while and pulled the plugs to check them and clean them. Its not running to well and trying to figure out why. Rented a carpet cleaner this weekend and cleaned up all the carpets in the house. Got a bunch of laundry done too. Other then that just kicked it and relaxed.

Re: What did you get done? 01/14

Got my interior the rest of the way back together, tightened all my body mounts, bumper bolts etc, and finished off a bunch of odds and ends that have needed doing for a long time, in some cases, since the day I bought my truck, lol

Gonna rattle can my vinyl interior with some vinyl paint to make it look a bit better (I hope, lol) install my rear bumper, and re-do my fuel fill this week while it is still warm. I thought I'd done good on my fuel fill on the outside of my box beforehand, but found out when I tried to add some gas this morning that I need to raise the filler neck up an inch or two, as the opening of the filler neck is at almost the same height as the fuel tank's neck =/

Oh well, just means I've got a bit more welding to do, lol

Once the fuel fill is done, and the interior has been painted, I'll be down to doing the head / cam swap on my engine, then I'll be out of things to do, less the bodywork...

Bodywork is gonna be fairly easy, fortunately. I've got a really nice, totally rust free 81 AC cab I'll swap on, along with a nice hood, and brand new inner / outer front fenders. I'll be keeping my front clip, and the red box. After I get the engine stuff done, along with anything else I am gonna be working on yet, I'll put the truck on the road, and get the bodywork done next spring, or just drop the parts off at a shop, depending on if I can find a place to do it at a reasonable cost...

Russ

BTW, here are some pics from tonight, one of the truck outside (yes, it drove itself there!), a pic of the fuel door I had put in after shooting it with some epoxy primer, and finally a pic of the interior of the truck

Re: What did you get done? 01/14

Thank you Sir! It has really come together in the last two weeks since deciding to just run the body as it until the new sheet metal is ready to be bolted on
