Re: What did y'all get done this weekend?

Took the cab off the frame, removed the trailing arms and front suspension, removed the trailing arm crossmember, and flipped the frame over so I can drill holes for the rear air bags sometime this week.

Perhaps the most productive weekend so far this year! Hopefully many more to come too...

Re: What did y'all get done this weekend?

Finished one of our project bikes, see pic below.. 341lbs 177 RWHP... Should be fun, but its raining here...

On the truck...

Gutted the interior, cleaned and degreased the pan, caulked all the seams with 3M fireproof caulk, filled the bottom pocket, and made a template for the right side speaker box (to mount 2 eight in. subs isobaric) to fit next to the gas tank.

Fitted dynamat, and coated the entire inside with epoxy sealant. cured it with some heat lamps, and re-installed the carpet, and upgraded all the hardwear for the seat (1999 1500 seats and belts)

Swapped a bunch of hardware underhood to stainless SHCS...

The best part is that my 5yo daughter did all the work on the truck with me...

Cant let her do much in the real shop... but playing around with dad at home in the garage, no problem!!

Heres a pic of the bike..

Re: What did y'all get done this weekend?

Nothing on my truck. Made all the body mounts for the racecar. Went over to my bro's and checked out the 71 4x4 burb he just got. Bought a 76 Bronco for cheap.

Re: What did y'all get done this weekend?

Got the burb started after sitting for a year. Change the oil and filter, added 3 qts of trans fluid (the pan gasket leaks) put fresh gas in her and started her up.
Checked the trans fluid and added another 1/2 quart. Runs great drove great check all fuilds again and everything was where it needed to be.
Went out this morning to see a large puddle of trans fluid on the floor crawled under and see it coming out of the front seal. Looks like it is time for a new trans. This one has 175,000 miles on it. Don't understand why it is leaking.

Re: What did y'all get done this weekend?

Well we got the bed mounted to the dollie with the new wood bed supports from Mar K we even tested it on the chassie but I forgot to take a picture of that (First time seeing any sheet metal on the old girl with the lower suspension was great) and was able to start the body work. The driver side is much worse then the Pass side.

Re: What did y'all get done this weekend?

Hung the left door on my brothers '57 Chevy PU. We did a hinge pocket repair and now we got the door back on. Then he helped me with the exhaust on my '57 Belair, before it got freezin cold again. (62 on Saturday, falling temps all day Sunday) Work on the wife's '69 PU? zero!

Re: What did y'all get done this weekend?

I went to pick up a rebuildable 350 core for my kid that's going to rebuild his first engine. Guy said he had 2 engines, one that was out and one that was in the truck - so I naturally said I'll take the one that's out Got there, and he had decided to keep the one that was out...so I spent 2 hours in the mud (and I mean MUD) in this guy's junkyard pulling this %)(*_$+)($# 350 with no decent tools and...OK, I'm griping OTOH, it's a 4-bolt 010 high nickle, high tin block...and since it's a 3/4 ton I'm hoping for a steel crank. Kept my cool and was polite the whole time. Need some "(step)Dad cred" for that one.

Otherwise, started on the Holley->Edelbrock swap on my '72. Everything is in place at this point but the throttle cable, and I've got a post on that one Next weekend I'll do the header install, rewire the ignition hot lines to distributor and carb and (finally) complete the overall performance tune.

Re: What did y'all get done this weekend?

Nothing car vehicle related, unless you count digging out the DD where it it a soft spot in the yard hauling out trees.

Other than that, spent Saturday with soccer, rain, and cold (for Mississsippi).

Re: What did y'all get done this weekend?

Lets see, went out in the garage, swept the floor, and put away some tools from a few days ago and then decided I was tired of freezeing my nads off so I went back in and took the kids over to the indoor jumping place, that was cool. oh and I rented a couple of real great (sarcasum) movies from blockbuster. Thats about it, Im tired of this winter snow thing, is it spring yet, I need to go out side and play.....

Re: What did y'all get done this weekend?

My land lord seemed to have a problem with my 70 model sittin in the yard, so I aired the tires up and pushed it back about eight feet so it can't be seen from the road. Besides that it was too cold to do anything. So cold that the air ride was froze on the daily driver. Hard to go anywhere with the frame on the ground.

Re: What did y'all get done this weekend?

Had to go out to the school for a while this morning, came home & changed clothes, actually added clothes, went to the shop and started pulling the cab and front end off the 71 ton (outside and about 30 degrees). Had a fellow bring me a auto column for a 71 or 72 came home and am thawing out.

Re: What did y'all get done this weekend?

I didn't get to do a thing to the '68. I did however get to replace the grill and scrape feathers out of the a/c rad on my wife's bravada. She took a shortcut home from her friends house the other day and hit a rather large bird, compounded by the below freezing temps shattered the grill to pieces. Fixed some other stuff on it that she has been bugging me about too. This way when it warms up a bit I can work on the '68 without guilt.

Talking Re: What did y'all get done this weekend?

Installed my new Dyna flow mufflers, man it sounds good but wondering if i will get tired of the rumble, it was a temp install anyway... drove 85-100 mph on the interstate to visit with the infamous Mark Ramirez, aka rage'nrat638, what a nice guy and man he's got some beautiful trucks. He helped me diagnose my, once in awhile, bogging down issue, and just chatted trucks for a few hours. Yea we talked all about you guys too, who we like who we didn't naaahh much love for the forum. thanks again Mark!
