Hey, that engine on the stand looks familiar!!!!!! Give it back! No, wait......never mind.

Looking good! Whatcha gonna do with the old bed now? Gonna put it on that 67 GMC?

OK, I'll get serious now........ maybe. When you get a chance and have the bed where it gonna stay for good, would you measure the gap you have between the front of the front bed panel to the back of the cab, and also how much of a gap you have where the bed kind of wraps around the corner of the cab? I can't tell for sure if mine is too close or just right.

Yeah, I can get those measurements for you Bob. We actually sold the bed to WyoRoadog, so it's making the rounds! I couldn't keep it, I need to make room for the next project(hopefully!).

And let me tell you, it's the best looking part of the truck right now! Gonna need to fill those marker light holes though...

Hold up, you got a wife who digs trucks AND cooks!!!! Man I gotta find me one of those.

Thanks for posting this swap, I've been thinking about doing it as well and this has definitely swayed me towards doing it.

I wasn't sure how easy it would be with an assembled cab, but it went surprisingly well, four of us really had no problem with the cab, and start to finish only took about an hour. Good friends makes it easy.

We already have the whole front clip installed, I'll update pics in a couple days.

Re: Rita's Rod Revival-SWB swap

Update-the truck is ready for the motor and tranny. We got assembly wrapped up today. I think we're gonna drive it with the bed as-is through the summer and then send it to the body shop next winter. We don't want to bust our very small budget.

Looks like a greenwall tire in that one photo. And looks like some good honest fun with friends in the others. Nice weather there.

Nice going. Looks like you and friends could soon hold your own 67-72 C-10 Fleetside truck show.

You're gonna send it to the body shop but it will still be primered when done right? That truck has more character than most any showtruck. No offense to the showtruck owners intended.

Re: Rita's Rod Revival-SWB swap

Yes, the body shop is only going to straighten it out and paint it with the matching flat black. One of the reasons we are waiting on the bed is because it has such a cool "crustiness" to it that it almost seems to go with the truck. So we figured we'd save money there for now.
I'll probably trick dirtball into coming over by seeing if he wants to come over for dinner and have the three of us knock some dents out and fill some holes and the stack pockets with the fillers from glock.

That is sweet looking. Making me debate on whether I still want to go with paint or stay "Retro"

Re: Rita's Rod Revival-SWB swap

Decisions, decisions...they look good both ways don't they? If I hadn't already bought the paint for mine I am sure it would go out in flat. One of my favorite trucks was my first one. In primer. I didn't mind taking it anywhere for fear of scratching or denting the body since it was an easy fix if something did happen to it. I didn't think of it as a beater but it wasn't a show truck either.

My wife picked them up at a swap meet, you can't tell in the pic but there the old ribbed style, I really dig them.

Thanks alot, this truck really does seem to get some attention. I absolutely love how it looks. I'm always suprised to see how popular it seems to be, I mean, it's nothing new, just a flat black shop truck, been done a million times over. I think maybe my wife has done just enough to make it a little unique.

thats true but theres just something about it that grabs you, maybe its the green wheels, maybe its not, and maybe its just everything put together, but whatever it is it makes it one *****in truck
