I did a ton of research on English Wheels to ensure I invested my money wisely. True, I use the wheel to make money, so quality was extremely important. I bought a MetalCraft Tools wheel and paid about $4500. They have a smaller wheel which is much cheaper and would work well for the 'hobbyist'. I wouldn't recommend the Harbor Freight version... it might work, but if you're really stepping up to buy a wheel, buy one that is a little higher quality. It is extremely important to have quality wheels, that means the upper and lower wheels that go on the machine. Another great place for wheels and planishing hammers that are a nice blend of quality and affordability is Northridge Tools. I have one of their large planishing hammers (don't use it much since I bought the english wheel) and I am pleased with the quality.

Wow Nate, that looks awesome. Makes me want to fly down to AZ just to drool in person. This truck will be on the cover somewhere, that's for sure.
