Re: My new 68
My cab is close to yours except the upper windshield, no inner rockers, holes in the rear corner and one homemade cab corner. My ebay claim was that "it had a solid floor!" until I removed the gas tank and found the hole big enough for my size 14's! Since mine is an original 4x4 SWB then I want to keep my cab, I plan on buying a bunch of patch panels (or a new floor) and going to town with the mig welder.... Mind if I ask what you paid?

Re: My new 68
I am an ebay seller, and take pride in disclosing anything that I think is not perfect about my items. From my experience the guy that said to go after the seller if you paid with paypal is right. It gives the seller motivation to work with you or to take the vehicle back. Essentially you turn in a claim to paypal that says the item was not received as described. Then the negotiations begin between you and the seller with paypal as the mediator. Its saved me a few buck more than once. Otherwise I could save a good cab that is just going to the crusher. For example i'm sending a perfect rust free 70 Dodge cab to a guy in NC for $2000. That includes my time, my friends time, purchase price and shipping.
Just my 2 or 3 cents. |

Re: My new 68
I never did welding or bodywork prior to my project. Take a class at the local communtiy college if you have one for auto body, welding. Those were the best college clases I ever took. Alot of places like that (including High Schools) are also looking for projects as well. You may learn something, make a few friends, and get some free advice in the process....Win-Win situation to me.. Oh yeah, my "rust free" 69 step off E-bay was worse than yours..Almost done with bodywork yeah!!!

Re: My new 68
Its nice that you have the possibility of finding a cab that doesn't need work that someone would actually sell you. There is no such thing as a rust free cab up here unless its already been fixed. And if its been fixed correctly its worth alot, obviously...
