Re: Rate My Rust or How bad is this.Lots of Pics
I personally would look for a new cab. Think about it: Even if you spend $1000 on a newer, less-rust cab, that's only a fraction of what you're going to pay for in man-hours, patch panels, welding supplies and tools.

Welding is no problem i have friends and family that will weld it for a steak dinner. I will look around and see what I can find a cab for around here, and compare prices and PITA factors. thanks for the expert opinions. David

You should be able to find a better cab than that in Ga.There's usually some good sheetmetal at the GSRA swapmeet.Too bad it's in Feb.If you subscribe to the board you can ask in the classifieds.

Well, you know, Goodmark's shop is right here in GA. They have all of the parts you need for patch panels, etc., but nobody makes a roof patch that I know of. You've got quite a bit of work on your hands there.

Re: Rate My Rust or How bad is this.Lots of Pics
From what i can tell it's a fairly loacl truck. It was owned by a feed and seed store and probbly hauled fertiliser that was corosive. the deeper i look the more im baffled. the cowell area is flawless, the A pillers seem rust free and solid, the inner rockers are nice and other than the front couple of inches the floor pans are bueatiful. I cut back the windshield weatherstriping and there is no rust beyond the rubber. Im extremely tempted to repair this cab. David
If you havent seen it yet heres the whole truck Last edited by TheSasquach; 03-19-2007 at 08:18 PM. Reason: adding pic |

Go for it!
There was a thread on the burb threads, where a guy from europe was fixing roof rust similar to yours. It was an inspiring thread, I'll try to find it. Dano
