By all appearances if you got that for less than $1500, you got a deal!

Re: Found an untouched 72 GMC...
Brad, I like the interior the best. Nothing has been touched. It would look new if I cleaned it, except for that one little damn rusty spot on windshield edge of the roof. Still don't understand how that got there since it's been sitting inside a barn.
It was tough to get all of that dirt off! If you notice, the front corner of the bed is drooping. That is from the rust. The bed is definately the truck's downfall. Last edited by drman929; 04-02-2007 at 10:38 PM. |

Re: Found an untouched 72 GMC...
That sound's a lot like my truck. Mine had been sitting in a field down the road from me since the original owner parked it in the 80's, because he had foot problems and needed a truck with an automatic. The man never sold a vehicle, when he got a new one he would just park the old ones out in the field. So when he died last year, his son started selling off all the old vehicles and machinery, and other random junk. I paid about $800 for my truck, completely original, with no rust.

Re: Found an untouched 72 GMC...
There's a few of them hiding around. The last time I was in Hot Springs I saw quite a few!
I'm seeing a 47-53 in your avatar, looks bigger than a half ton though. What are your other rides? |

It's my 2 ton wrecker in the avitar. I have a 69 you can read about here http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=227781
I also have a few other old projects lurking around the shop. We've been restoring since about 1986. |

Re: Found an untouched 72 GMC...
Well fine I forgive you I guess...
Here's ya some eye candy. My dad built these suckers...I helped with the dirty work. The cream is totally factory original, but the red has a later 261 along with the Pacers, radials, and a more road-friendly rear end ratio. He also put a factory radio inside the red one. He sold both of them during the Annual Petit Jean antique show last year. There is another project in the disassembly process though. Don't mind the missing windshield in the first pic. That was all he lacked doing on that truck, but I was too camera happy to wait. Last edited by drman929; 04-03-2007 at 10:28 PM. |

Re: Found an untouched 72 GMC...
Some people build and drive, some build and sell, its nice to see two more that won't be rotting away in a field somewhere. They are both beautifully done trucks. By the way, can't wait to see more pics of your score, looks sweet.

Re: Found an untouched 72 GMC...
Congrats on the find. I should do a better job of keeping my eyes open for cars and pickups. The way I figure it, I don't have the project in my driveway done, so I shouldn't be biting off more than I can chew.
