Re: More better exhaust sound?
I like the rumble...but do not like it in the cab...if the mufflers (flowmaster, magnaflows etc) were moved to the far back of the bed...right before the tips...
1...would it fit?, 2...What would the sound be like? 3. Would it be quieter in the cab?

Re: More better exhaust sound?
I've got these on my 69 and I LOVE the way they sound!!!. Better even than my 454 Elky with its H-pipe crossover.

Re: More better exhaust sound?
Hooker Headers to 3"pipe. Flowmasters tucked up in the box behind cab. Then dumped before the axle into 6" tips(yes 6") Flowmaster sound with a deep bass Thump.

Re: More better exhaust sound?
Home made. Sometimes when you want to be different custom fabrication is the only way.
Nothing like p*ssing off the neighbours

Re: More better exhaust sound?
Man I love homemade exhaust. I was going out to my buddy's house (he lives out on a county road) and he said he could hear me coming on the freeway. The freeway off ramp is a good half mile or more away from his house and he told me it sounded like a fricken jet engine.
That's something to be proud of IMO.

Re: More better exhaust sound?
Here's what I did on the longbed 72 4x4:
Long tube headers, then 3.5 ft of 2.5" I.D. pipe to get past the transfer case, then 5.5 ft of 1970 Chevelle Chambered exhaust mufflers, then 2.5" pipes out to just inside the rear bumper. Sounds like a friggin' 426 Hemi in a '70 cuda! This is a small block (383) but has a definite big block sound with this system. It's very loud when you stab it. 72longbed |
