Re: look what I found hiding behind the shed!

Interesting...I thought all the '68's had either silver or white around the grill. I recall my white CST had white and the Longhorns have white but all others were silver. This one has the custom appearance group but it would be very interesting to see what other options are there.

I don't need another truck but I would buy it and restore it to original...even with the six banger and that big dent on the drive side fender...LOL! It would make a nice addition to my '68 collection...HINT, HINT!

I would make him give you the price HE WANTS for it, Then work DOWN from there. That's how a no BS negotiation works in my book.

Ilike 72"s,

My truck is a money pit. I paid $2K for it and have about another $1500 in it now. I might be able to sell it for $2000. I do however enjoy working on it to some degree.

Realistically I would try to at least break even on it. But I think I like my truck too much to sell it.

Hey, Post some more pictures if you can.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and assume it's been repainted at some point, because I don't believe Chevy offered color-matched West Coast Jr. mirrors. I could be wrong tho.

BTW, beautiful truck. That thing is fricking clean! I'd pay $2k condition unknown here in NE Ohio.

Its been repainted I'd say, the front bumper brackets have overspray. If it was in Kansas I'd give $1500 easily!!!!!!!!

I'd say $1500 is fair. it does look like it is complete, and pretty straight. I don't know how you could go wrong.

Bishop Sorry. I don't think your a bad man. I ask for opinions. Yours is the way I,m leaning. But buyers do turn and sell sometimes. Thats what makes all our pickup prices go up. Makes me feel good knowing my shop sitters are increasing in value.

Atta boy. It's a nice find. Something you'll remember for a long time - and if you flip it you'll definitely regret it - that money will be gone in no time, but the truck won't, if you keep it. Just consider it a savings account that is fun to look at.

Re: look what I found hiding behind the shed!

I've been lookin at trucks around here lately... I dunno if I want to buy something, or just like to tourture myself, but every rust bucket pile of bondo 67 - 72 truck here is goin for 2500 at a minimum. That truck, here in central ohio (remember, there's a huge rust issue here) would go for at least 3500 if it didn't run... if it was for sale here, and runs as good as it looks, it would be 5000 OBO.

Exactly what I was saying. I've put up posts and followed the classified section on here and I haven't seen ANY trucks like that for $1500.00. I went to Spring Carlisle and couldn't buy a bucket of bolts for under 5 grand.

Re: look what I found hiding behind the shed!

There is no telling what there is underneath...frame could be rusted out. Sight unseen like the few pics we have I would say anywhere from 500-1000.

It could be a complete bust. Could be nothing but a shell.

Even if it straight it still could take 4 or 5 grand to get it to daily driver status.

Even if all you did was driveline and safety things.

Re: look what I found hiding behind the shed!

The prices on the West Coast are always lower.

Some guy has been trying for weeks to sell a SWB fleetside '68 sans motor, tranny and tailgate for $1350 and it just won't move. This is in a major metropolitan area, too. I am thinking that is a great price for a clean truck with minor rust issues...still no takers.

I don't ever see truck frames rusted out here, unless they are west of the coast range and right on the ocean.

Like the members from Maine and Vermont said....over here you can't touch trucks like that for that kind of money. I'm seriously thinking of contracting a car hauler to haul 9-10 up here from East Tennessee to re-seed the area...LOL

Wow, those are some wide regional price differences. Around here, it would be in the $800-1200 range. Looks like a straight truck.

Oh I have a lot more pics/prices....I went with the intention of buying a truck and drove home a Jetta

Just shows the desparity in pricing from area to area....trucking isn't THAT expensive

Re: look what I found hiding behind the shed!

Looks a lot like one I saw a few years ago around La Grande or Baker, over the course of a couple years I was up to 2500. He laughed at me!! I bought the one down the street that didn't run for 400. Wish I still had it.

You must not make it down the coast much ...In Southern California those trucks bring a premium, I paid $6500 for my basket case 2 years ago...Still have never even started it hopefully it will run when I get to that point.

I used to live across the pond from Seattle, in the NORTH West they are much less than in some places.

Re: look what I found hiding behind the shed!

What's this do to my thoughts??? I'm thinking if I owned a clean, unmolested,
semi-rare truck like this and someone offered me $800.00 for it I would kick them in the nuts and order them off my property!! If I knew they were only trying to buy it to flip it for profit I would have kicked them harder, twice!!
