This should be an interesting story... we should put together a thread: The build, the cross country drive, then the updates. I have a few plans to do a running rebuild. Most of my other plans are generally frame off, which this one will not get. It needs to be running within 10 hours of any mod.

As I said on the phone: I am in no rush. I know your wife wants it gone, but mine doesn't even know about it yet!

I plan on flying out with her and taking a leisurely drive back...

Of course, I do have the 67 1 ton 4x4 dually in the works...

Toomanytoyz, we visited last week and I know it's still for sale and that he'd really like to sell it. He's out of town right now but send him a PM and he'll give you all the details. I've seen it in person and for a SWB, it's definitely worth what's he's asking.

I would Love The Fly Out & drive Back if I was in Better Physical Shape, I have had 2 Back Op's & 2 Neck Op's for disc Problem's. Needless to say i have Problem's Riding or Driving for extended Period's of Time.

Im Real interested in The Stepper if we can Work out the Logistic's of Getting it Here To Indiana, I can Handle 2-3 Hr's as Long as i Stop & Get Limbered up before Going On.

I Think if we Put our Head's to it we Can work out some Kind of Plan.........

Rick

Ps My ebay Name is iroc_nomad if you want to Check me out To see that i'm True to my Word......

IF this becomes a Reality it will be Known as Project " PHOENIX " , Seems very Fitting for a Truck Coming Back to Life & From Az. Also

Re: 1967 SWB stepper in NE AZ!!

I am home for the day, but I am heading out to Denver tomorrow morning! Brad thanks for looking out for me!! I have this one as well as the 67 short fleet 4X4 with 8-lug axles, and the 72 K5 in my Siggy for sale. I am picking up my new Harley when I come home, so I need to sell all of these things. The wife is after my scalp, so in order to keep what little hair I have left, buy these trucks, finish what I couldn't!! I will try to check in while I am gone to Denver.

Re: 1967 SWB stepper in NE AZ!!

Talked with Mike Tonight & Look's like we have Worked out the Details on this Truck, Mike will put it all together with 350 Mtr & Tranny Combo.

Mike has Agreed to Make sure that all metal on this Truck is Straight & Rust Free & Then Get a Decent Driver Quality Paint Job put on it & Then Deliver it to NC in DEcember, I have Back Problems & The Drive to NC for Pick up will be a Lot easier on me than trying to Drive all the way Home from Az.

From Talking with him on the Phone he sound's Like a Straight up Guy that is willing to go the Extra Distance to help out a Fellow Board Member, Hopefully we can Do a Build & Deliver Thread on this...........

Thanks for Listening, Rick

Re: 1967 SWB stepper in NE AZ!!

Rick, I don't want to sound redundant, but I've met Mike on several occasions now and consider him a trustworthy friend. He and I have had numerous phone conversations and have hung out several times. If I lived in a 'salt' state, I would not hesitate to buy this site unseen, but these grow on trees where I come from.

My only problem with this deal is that I'll be moving back to Oregon in a few days and won't get to help out with the build! I'd even offer to help with the drive, but I'll be in the desert then and not the one down here in AZ.

Mike, I'd really like to know when you start to get things put together on this. I'd really like to contribute if possible. I'm sure there'd be at least one weekend where I can head up there and wrench on the truck for a weekend.

Let me know bud!

Guy's, last time I spoke with 70rs/ss he was going to be out of town again on the 13th and 14th. Be patient and he'll respond and have more time after this week.

Stelth, I've seen your ad regarding wtb a swb and it's too bad we couldn't have arranged something sooner. I would have enjoyed delivering a vehicle up to you on my way back to Portland.

Re: 1967 SWB stepper in NE AZ!!

I have a tenative deal on this truck, toomanytoys and I spoke after his above post, and he decided he couldn't pass it up. We will have a deal as soon as the payment is recieved. If for some reason it does not happen, I will then sell it to the next person. If you are interested, be sure to drop me a PM it is tough for me to locate and keep up with this thread. I traveled for a month straight for my job and now I am a month behind!! I can find PM's much easier!! I have a 67 short fleet 4X4 and a 72 K5 Blazer, and since I just brought home my new Harley, Ineed the others gone as well. If interested DROP ME A PM. I'm in a selling mood!!

PS THX Brad for the kind words
Xtreme 80: "Mike, I'd really like to know when you start to get things put together on this. I'd really like to contribute if possible. I'm sure there'd be at least one weekend where I can head up there and wrench on the truck for a weekend."

Absolutely, I can always use an extra set of hands!!

Thx, Mike
