Nice looking truck!! Do you know the history of it? What year is it? Looks like a 79-80 front end with an early 70's bed...wonder which is correct for the truck?

Thanks guys.....it's all '78. '78 was 1st yr. of turn signals intergrated w/HL bezels........ @ 5-6" drop with 245/60-15 & 275/60-15's.
Also, I had a plain, jane 1980 SWB (round HL's) that had the same bed, with the exposed filler neck....FWIW.
This was my step-dads truck.......he was killed last Dec. during the windstorms here in Wa.....he has had this truck for a long time, was always changing things on it, motors, etc, he loved this truck. Originally was grey with blue interior, now Tangerine with gold pearl and black int.....
Currently has a 350HP 396, but I'll be swapping in my LS-6 spec 454 in a week or two from my old truck......

Re: What did you get done? Mothers day edition

fri night noticed my 96 had a weird vibration at hwy speeds so i parked it and thought the rear end went out

sat checked the slack in the pinion and the pinion bearing went out so i ended up buyin a rear end out from under the same truck my bed came off of

sun installed the rear end and drove better bought my mom some flowers

tues on the way to work slung the drive shaft out due to bad u joint so there was my vibrations, took a 81 elcamino drive shaft and mine to the drive shaft shop had a custom one made thats an inch shorter due to my drop, was made in less than and hr

No, 78 had separate headlight bezels and turn signals. 79 was the first year... If that truck is a 78 then somehow the 79 front found its way onto the cab.

Sorry to hear about your step-dad, but it is cool that he lives on in your truck! Keep it awesome! Truck already looks great.

I stand corrected.... (Always thought '77 was last year )
Although I know FOR A FACT that this front clip is original......I'm sure my step-dad just changed the bezels.......

Re: What did you get done? Mothers day edition

can't remember, but if my memory serves me correct, i went to a swap meet saturday, and hung out there most of the day, a friend traded his 47 chevy coupe for a 67 Buick GS340 which i got to drive, looks, sounds, and runs pretty good, then i installed a billet grille on my brothers 06 crew cab GMC, grille4you's instructions suck for that model, if he were to buy another one for that body style i would get a different brand, just for the better instructions, the grille is good quality though
