Re: new bucket seats any advice on install?

Yeah, I was going to say you might want to back that driver seat up a bit

Re: new bucket seats any advice on install?

was the power pretty straight-forward? I got some gm trailblazer seats, and it took me a while to get power to them. the pass. seat was no problem - just put power to the big orange wire and ground to the big black wire. but the driver's seat was different. it had more wires. there were two little orange wires along with the big one. i finally figured out that i had to put power to the big one and one of the little one to get it to move. anyone know why? i suspect it is some kind of signal from somewhere, but not sure..

i wish someone would post a gm seat wiring identification. to show what wires connect to what.

Got the same seats in my truck. I positioned the power sliding frame centered under the seat, made a template for the holes, drilled the holes and fortified the underneath with 2x2 steel plates. And yes...Orange wire is for power.

Re: new bucket seats any advice on install?

I have seats like this sitting and waiting to be installed in my truck but want to install my ECE rear mounted gas tank first then I can install the new seats with the factory gas tank removed. I'm 6' 2 1/2 ' and have long legs and I'mhoping thses will be comfy seats for me. I was lucky and got power seats both sides which always give more movement positions than non-power seats.

yeah, but do you have any idea what the 2nd little orange wire is supposed to go to originally? it's strange. two orange wires req'd on driver's side to have power to move.

Maybe the other orange wire is so you can move/recline just the seat back without moving the bum part. Can't you see where it is attached at the other end?

Re: new bucket seats any advice on install?

Thanks for the thread guys. Exactly what I need too. I'm heading out this weekend for serats, likely a set of blue Tahoe's.

Approx what can I expect to spend on a set of seats like this? What's reasonable?

Thanks.

You should be able to get seats for $200/300, unless the wrecker is a nut like one of them around here. If the seta are power se if you can get the wiring connector cause it'll make it so much easier when hooking up.
