This is what I have done on mine soo far...
HF gravity feed spray gun and had a local paint supply house add a flattner to a single stage top coat paint. It turned out just how I wanted it to... Last edited by FlatBrokeRacing; 05-24-2007 at 08:19 PM. |

Is this truck waxed? That looks really shiney but still has the flat look.

Re: Satin Or Flat Trucks.. Lets See Pics!
I have the same feeling about the flat paint as I do the spray-in bedliners... after a little dirt aren't they just impossible to keep clean? Not being negative or a smart-A$$- just want to know.
Muddy footprints in the Linex liners just keep staying and staying.... The flat or very semigloss is a knockout- but???? Thanks

Re: Satin Or Flat Trucks.. Lets See Pics!
They're just as easy to keep clean as a gloss black paint job(which isn't actually very easy). It's the texture on a bed liner that makes them so hard to keep clean. Depending on what you're using for paint the flat does stain pretty east though.

Re: Satin Or Flat Trucks.. Lets See Pics!
I did mine in semi gloss this time becouse my last one was impossible to keep clean, and when you did clean it, you had to scrub it. Real PITA.

Re: Satin Or Flat Trucks.. Lets See Pics!
Here`s a couple naturals:
I have some old steel lawn furniture that I sandblasted and primed with DP90.It rained over the weekend between the blasting and primer. It got just a light film of rust(in a shed)that I scuffed before shooting primer.I saw some bleed through and I hit it with Permatex rust treatment before spray bombing with either Krylon,Rustoleum, etc. to get my desired colors.Three or four years later they`re all faded with bit`s of surface rust showing.I was thinking thisis just what a guy wants for that patina look.Just gotta be patient and use crappy paint.

Re: Satin Or Flat Trucks.. Lets See Pics!
Have any of you seen the HotRodFlatz colors in person? It appears their 'Olive Brown' is kind of a bronze color on my monitor..... Is this correct?
Is it close to this color? If not, I'm wanting to dulpicate this original color but in its 'current' state of aging. Any suggestions?
