Re: 60-66 C10 on Trucks!

well no offence to anybody but my truck will never be cut, chopped, lowered or dropped. it will never have any more chrome than the trim, wheels, grill, bumper, and mirrors. hell i might not even be putting trim back on. if my truck ever gets a frame off it will stay the same height or higher and will look bone stock from the outside, minus maybe some slicks, and be bad to the bone under the hood.

did you know that 99% of all fords made are still on the road today?

the other 1% made it home!!!!

Agreed, I hate to say it, but those trucks are the all time best looking trucks.

Can we agree that 60-66s are better looking the 67-72s? *ducks and runs*

Re: 60-66 C10 on Trucks!

Thanks for the compliments. I love the truck myself. It has been a project off and on for about 2 years, and I am tearing it back down to do some more upgrades. the short beds in my opinion are a better looking truck, but a long bed sure would come in handy when i throw my motorcycle on back, or a load of fire wood.

Re: 60-66 C10 on Trucks!

i like the LWB fleetsides and the SWB stepsides depending on what kind of look im going for. if im gonna jack it up OR lower it and restore it i would go with a 64,5,or 6 SWB step. as for what i want right now, i have a 66 LWB fleet and its perfect for me at the moment. i can throw **** in the bed or get in with muddy boots and not worry about it. know what i mean? but hey, to all his own. i like um all, long, short, tall, skinny. as long as its not hot pink im happy.

I agree my dad has a 55 that he has been working on for years and I repainted for him last year all he needs to do is get out there and and finish things I have had stitches in me from that truck when I was 2 and I would sell my 66 in a heartbeat for a 53-56 ford but thats the ONLY bodystyle I would ever give up for my truck. Or I can wait and inherit it from him later on

I hope the stovebolt gods do not banish you from stovebolt heaven for giving up your '66 Chevy for a blue oval. Let me know if you do, I might add it to my collection. Just kidding. Keep the '66 forever!

Same for me, more or less.
But I do cruise around with a 4 inch drop in rear sometimes, due to half ton of motorcycles and gear in the back.

Like I said the truck he has is in part the reason why I love wrenchin on cars and trucks that truck will never leave my family as long as I am alive its all metal and I put in over 100 hrs in body work to get it lookin as good as it does so yeah it holds a big sentimental piece of me. And I would never own any other bodystyle ford than that. But that being said my 66 is mine and I plan on making it different from others in my area and having a nostalgic look to it.

Where do you cut the frame to shorten it? Can you modify to a 7' bed?
