Re: Whats The Best Wax Really?
I use Zaino. Although you have several steps, you only have to use it one to two times a year, beads up everytime, shines and looks great.

Re: Whats The Best Wax Really?
Hello, I have a few questions. First I have an 02 Black Silverado. I am interested in the Zaino product but don't know what to buy or what I would need to start off with or for that matter how to apply it. any help is greatly appreciated.
Thank you Ralph

Re: Whats The Best Wax Really?
I personally never did try the Zano line---And I do believe that it is a good product. However, I have started using Wizards products and their paint sealant and detail spray is really something that you have to witness. I use it on all of my vehicles and I have a black truck, black Impala SS, and a white truck. I buy my stuff by the case from the distributor and save about 30% on the over the counter cost. www.wizardsproducts.com

Is there a system that works particular well for dark single stage paints ? I have a burgundy truck with cheap single stage paint, and the Texas sun is really bad on it seeing as it's never garaged. Oxidation happens very quickly. I need something that lasts awhile and will protect well against UV rays and oxidation. Also, whats the best rubbing and polishing compound I can buy to remove the oxidation and bring back the shine before waxing ? I have used Turtle Wax liquid rubbing compound with Meguiars polish and had good results but I think I can do a lot better.

Once again, I think if y ou got your hands on the Wizards, you would be surprised. The pics up above are on a truck that is black and clear coated, but the shine stays. I use this stuff on all o f my daioly driven vehicles. The white truck that I have has a pearl mix in the clear coat and the shine stays through the Kansas winters. I use 3M FINNESSE IT rubbing compund on most of my stuff and then follow it up with a coat of Wizards "Shinemaster" or if nothing else a 3M glazing compound. 3M has advanced to different rubbing compounds, but unless you are quick on the draw, the FINNESSE IT is the best choice. This stuff works on plastic pieces for getting scratches out. Once again refer to the black truck above for the shine. |

Re: Whats The Best Wax Really?
I use zaino. Like stated above, the first time you apply it, it's a time consuming process (claybar, basecoat, topcoat) but it lasts A LONG time and looks awesome

Re: Whats The Best Wax Really?
In my world "best" equals longest lasting because who wants to wax 4-5 times/year? Longer lasting waxes are not wax, but synthetic polymer sealants. Keep in mind that pure carnuba wax is really only good for 6-8 weeks. I like Poorboy's pure EXP sealant and Klasse All-in-One. They both last awhile and shine great (over a properly prepared surface of course).

Re: Whats The Best Wax Really?
Zaino. Been using it since 1999. Best stuff, hands down, I've ever used. Easy on, easy off, and the shine is incredible...especially on darker colors.
Finishing up the final wet sanding on my cab this week (Black), then will buff it out. Before we even mount the cab, it will have two coats of Zaino.

Re: Whats The Best Wax Really?
after checking the website, it's been around since 91' and claims to be the original dry wash product. Washless car wash basically with stuff that is supposed to give a great shine. i always said the best wax is whatever you are using and multiple applications.

Re: Whats The Best Wax Really?
I have used Meguairs wax without many issues, but I am in the market for some great wax. Looks like I will need to check out the Wizard brand.
What are people experiences with Mothers products? I know Foose uses them, but he's also getting paid....

Re: Whats The Best Wax Really?
I use IBIZ. Several friends of mine have been using this stuff for years. I finally bought some and was impressed at the shine and how much cleaner my trucks and cars were. Its also endorsed by the Corvette club of america. They have a complete line of detailing products and are guaranteed. Pretty sweet stuff

Re: Whats The Best Wax Really?
I am a Mothers beliver , but i have used Zimol in the past . I just don't like the meguiers gold paste ( the girls got me a package deal for my birthday one year ) . I recently tried the surf city garage barrier reef wax and was very happy with it . I live in a high humidity area and it still looks good after 3 weeks .

Re: Whats The Best Wax Really?
hotrod 80, I understand the high humidity issues. Looks like I will have to jump on the Mothers crew and try out some of their products. Out of Mothers, Zimbol, and Surf City, which provided the best protection?

Re: Whats The Best Wax Really?
I will bring some of the Wizards stuff I have, to the MATN if anyone is interested in seeing how it goes on. As for protection, all of my vehicles have it on them and the white truck is my all year round daily driver (snow, rain, Kansas Hot weather, and idiot drivers) Keep it in mind. I did not believe it's ease and protection capabilities until I tried it myself. Used zymol, Mequires, Mothers, and many others before. however I will admit, I have not tried Zano---not readily available in my area.

Re: Whats The Best Wax Really?
I use Dupont with teflon on the Harley but when I got the truck painted they said not to use it cause they have a real hard time stripping it. It makes the scoot look good though. I can't wax the truck till late fall. So im gonna keep up with this till then.

Re: Whats The Best Wax Really?
Poorboy's is my choice... It doesn't hurt either that I won $150 worth of microfiber accessories, just because I ordered $30 worth of product... HA
