Re: parting 71 chevy 1/2

Don, its in bad shape sorry
Walts here are pics, I cannot find a dipstick or hole for one. Kind of puzzling to me. So your saying since it has a J in it, its not worth anything huh? Oh well I'll just sit it with the others than.
Thanks Randy

Re: parting 71 chevy 1/2

72 Cheyenne K20, Scott, I got 2 good pair of metal door panels $15 each pair plus hipping
70GMCer, Steve, Let me get the door panel off and see if that stuff is all good. What exactly are you needing for the latch assembly?
Toast2112, Jim, I'll try to get it all off Tuesday night but it may end up being Friday night. I got to watch the kids on Wed and Thursday so that ties me up on those nights.
Thanks Randy

Re: parting 71 chevy 1/2

Manifolds look to be early "Caprice Classic" Early to mid 80's with a 305cid. I know that they could have been changed. being a Driver's side dipstick it is an early motor. Harmonic balancer is the larger/fatter 6" model usually found on 350's

327's USUSALLY had a real skinny H.B.

again, could have been changed.

Check the casting numbers and date code on the back of the block - probably an act of congress to clean them off, but that should narrow it down even better with the front Suffix code.

sorry, but corvette L79's didint have holleys (nova's did)... and even if they did it doesnt change the fact that the shortblock is the valuable part of this... obviously the heads are not '65 corvette heads would not have accesory hole on the front. it look like someone put later model heads/manifold/ ect on a old 327 block
