Re: Lost interest in my 69 SWB

Thank's for the responses and encourgament. I have 3 projects at this time, the 69 SWB, my offroad 97 Ranger and my 76 International "Terra". I decided to sell the Terra as I just finished it. With the 8-9K I get from it I can afford to get the wheels and a nice paint job for the 69. I'll than put it in the corner of the shop and just drive it to car shows. Fact is I got way too much time and money in it to let it go now. One less rig around here it will also free up some much needed space. So, bottom line, I'm keeping it!

Let me use this oppertunity to show off my last project. Thanks again.

Hey Ron. I'm not a fan of Scouts but that rig's super nice. You're keeping the 69, good deal.

Hey, that is one clean Binder! It is a rare occasion to see one in excellent shape! You did some good work on it.

Most Binders have been beat to death. "Terras" are considered to be one of the rarest. I had to replace much sheetmetal on this one even though it was one of the best I could find. Aftermarket support is grim. Bottom line, had I invested the same amount of time and money on the 69 C-10 my investment would be worth 20K instead of the 8k the Terra is worth. Internationals never really caught on with collectors and nice ones go for little.

Re: Lost interest in my 69 SWB

The Terra just sold on Ebay. I now have 8K to finish the C-10. It has been sitting in the shop on studded snow tires for 6 years now so the first thing I'm getting is new tires and wheels. I want to go with 17's but the offset has not been decided yet.

Great news. No offense to the Scout or the Ranger, but I wouldn't trade a stack of them for a '69 C-10 as nice as your's can be with the funds from selling them.

The last few years I got involved in off roading. The C-10 took a back seat. I washed the dust off of it today and took it for a drive. It drives like a dream. I just don't have the time to finisher her. What to do?
Why not combine the best of both worlds. Put a trailer hitch on there, and use it as a tow rig for your off road vehicles. That way you can still drive it, and be able to get to your locations in style.

Re: Lost interest in my 69 SWB

As nice as the paint is on the bed, I'd bet a you could pull it off, scuff and paint to match the cab would be fairly reasonable ($$$ wise) and then she is one color and nice!! Congrats on the sale, as others here I'd like to have one that nice.

Saw that Terra on ebay, one sweet ride. Not as sweet as a rust free 69 C10 though!

Re: Lost interest in my 69 SWB

Maybe I should start another build thread. Anyway, I'm making progress on the '69. I'm working on getting the stance correct. I just put on 275/60R17 Toyo ST's on 9.5 wide Torque Thrust for the rear and 255/60R17 Toyo ST's on 8.0 wide Torque Thrust for the front. I agonized for months on this decision and I'm really happy with the outcome. I even bought a new car cover for it .

The next few things will be a new serpentine accessory drive, Vintage air, fuel injection, tach dash, seats, steering wheel, hard bed cover and a paint job. I want a $25,000 truck when I'm done.

Dont paint it. I have never seen good paint like that - front one color - bed other color - both glossed. I love it!

Just paint the cab that silver and you will be golden, LOL! Sounds like you have some work ahead, but it will be worth it. I love the rim and tire choice

That would be the wrong way to go...paint the box to match the cab! Keep the retro colors alive.

*DISCLAIMER* I may be biased, due to owning a medium olive Suburban.

This could be a new craze in 2 tone paint jobs!!

Also, you said you wanted it to be a $25,000 truck? Don't you have that in it by now? It looks awesome!
