Re: She's baaccckkkk!!!!

Thanks guys, I'll be taking more pics when i install the trim and molding back on. I do have a question though, the lower molding that comes in adhesive strips, where do you recommend I get it from? I've noticed that some aftermarket ones are not exact so i want to be careful in what i choose. LMC wants $79 for a 32 foot roll which i believve is not enough, think i'd be a few feet short. Went to NAPA they wanted $130 for 34 feet. what do you recommend?

Re: She's baaccckkkk!!!!

I ordered a roll from Brothers, but have not gotten it yet. I can report on its authenticity when it gets here, though My personal opinion was that as long as it was close, it would be ok because i am replacing all of it, just like you are.

The problem i found is when they mate up to rear corner pieces, that is where it's most noticable.

thanks for the tip though i'll check them out.

Lookin good, man! I'll agree that a sport bumper would look good too. Also, a new set of taillights will make a big difference in looks.

I would agree tha the bumper would look great but i love my step, again this is my go to home depot lowes and everywhere else I need to haul things around, but my main goal is to keep it somewhat stock the way that it was originally purchased.

Thanks again everyone.

LMC also sells a pre-cut kit that includes eveerything for both sides and the tailgate if that helps. Part number is 39-7031 for the shortbed.

Price is kind of steep at $149.95, but it's also pre-cut as the original was so it should be a lot less hassle to put it on. If I ever get mine done so that I can put new trim on this is the way that I'll be going. ...Joe

Re: She's baaccckkkk!!!!

On my '82 K5 the trim has all been replaced (by PO) and it is different than the rear corner (aluminum?) pieces. It is narrower. Looks similar other than that though.
I wonder if the roll is a match to OE or if its like the trim on my Blazer?

The price for the kit does seem steep but I have seen the indiviual pieces offered for sale for a price that makes this complete set seem more than fair.
All the trim on my '86 GMC swb is in rough shape so this looks like a nice item to me. When I have an extra $150?

On a side note, in the LMC catalogs it always says "lists $100, sell $80" or something like that. Where is it listing for the price they show?
