Hey 67_C-30... You are right!!!
I win the "stupid" award. Maybe I should double read before I type. It's amazing the number of post and Corn is the one to catch it and even after he replied I still missed it. Geeeeee I feel like a Ford and Dodge combined. I humbly stand corrected. At least when I stick my foot in my mouth I do a good job of it. I am going to put myself on probation for the next 30 minutes.

Re: Poll Will our trucks get priced out of the common folks affordability?
Hey Corn...all is well.
It has been a long day and my brain has been cramping up. Its tough getting old. I read your response a dozen times and I could not figure out what you was saying. I looked at the poll and I read your response and then I looked at the poll and I didn't get it. It wasn't until 67_C-30 replied is when I finally saw the light. As my son says...Meeeeeeeee Bad! You were right on. It is amazing with all the responses no one saw the "76-72 goof"? I stand corrected. That is what is great about this board. One (me) can error and we (me) can admit ones (me) goof. Maybe I need new glasses. Hey if we ever meet I owe you and 67_C-30 a coke.

Re: Poll Will our trucks get priced out of the common folks affordability?
The Dad says they are starting to sell in Ohio and demand is up. I think they will climb. All ready the Nada has increased on the three classic price quotes they give the customer, Low, Average and High . I notice an increase in prices over that last couple years. Prices have been climbing in the local truck trader books with a steady pace.

Re: Poll Will our trucks get priced out of the common folks affordability?
I only paid 1500 for my truck and its in decent shape it even came with a newer 700r4 in her, but I stole this thing wasn't even lookin and I just stubbled acrossed it, on the way home I put some fresh gas in her because she'd sat for 2 years and I was offered 3000 for the truck but would not take it.

Re: Poll Will our trucks get priced out of the common folks affordability?
I dont think the value of our trucks will decline. Our trucks are still on the road after 35-40 years and the value is rising for sure. I think they are steadily climbing. The short beds will always bring more money than the LWB's,and the CSTs and Cheyenne SUPERs being the highest. I dont think that the RAREST trucks will bring that much, example:LONGHORNs.

We can only hope and keep the dream alive. I agree with you though.

A big block shortbed CheyenneSuper,posi,a/c,woodfloor,tilt,tach,black,red interior, loaded truck is low production and rivals muscle car prices, for example.

Re: Poll Will our trucks get priced out of the common folks affordability?
I see the problem is that as the useable parts are depleted it is going to raise the value of building a reasonable priced truck.Which will raise the overall value of these trucks in general.I am having a problem finding a decent cab for my project!

Re: Poll Will our trucks get priced out of the common folks affordability?
Affordable is only relative to what someone thinks that is. I can't imagine these trucks ever get in the same realm as muscle cars....after all they are considered collectable and I don't think these trucks are necessarily collectable, but more along the lines of desirable.
If you opened the garage door of any serious collector's stable, I think you would be hard pressed to see one of these trucks in their collection. Value is based on supply and demand......these trucks are in demand because they are popular and the supply of restorable examples will continue to dwindle which will drive the price up.

Re: Poll Will our trucks get priced out of the common folks affordability?
I've seen all kinds of prices on our trucks. Depends on what it is,example is a SWB loaded Super worth as much as a crate, air-bagged, 17'' wheel built truck? I think the base value will never decrease. Most of us that has em' know a $1500 or a 10k or above. Sometimes a '' deal '' is found, Pops truck that has 50k in a old garage for $2500 or the guy that has 10k in parts and labor and bails for 5-6k. I know what mines worth and I wouldn't lose a cent.

Re: Poll Will our trucks get priced out of the common folks affordability?
Hey mtdave2...
When talking about 67-72 Chevy/GMC Trucks....there is no such thing as a "Kiss of Death." Now if we were talking about Fords or Dodges then yes it is possible. All comments are important and welcomed.

Re: Poll Will our trucks get priced out of the common folks affordability?
I have watched decent 67-72s on Ebay almost double in price in just 2 years.Im talking nice paint- interior-not show quality but nice drivers. They averaged around 5-6000 when I bought my 69 step----many now are twice that.
