Progress slow, I got the doors off and the tailgate and braces installed to keep everything straight. Going to try and get the body off sometime this week so I can work on the frame and suspension.

Here is a chop Carter did for me a while ago and it is the look I want. I am going to put the 67-68 trim on it like in the last pic. I think I am going to run the front and rear pans instead of bumpers. I think the black may look best on the bottom, grille and do the winshield frame and top black also.

Got the frame out from under it in about 45 mins by myself yesterday. Looks like the stock gas tank will not work back

Started doing a little sanding and the passenger rear bottom quarter had a crap load of bondo hiding a couple of dents so I am going to take it and have it blasted. From what I could tell it had been painted about 3 times and it was originaly hugger orange. Maybe off to the blaster next week.

Update. Got the frame striped down and the c notch cut out. I ordered a kp weld in step notch for the rear along with the under bed bag mounts. I started the 1.5" crossmember notch today, got the section cut out and it will be grinding and cutting filler pieces tomorrow. If I can remember to get the camera out of my other truck I will take some new pics. I also located me a free 9" ford rearend.

I have most of the grinding done on the crossmember, maybe I can get it welded up this afternoon.

1.5" on the crossmember. I am going to install a R&P of some sort, I guess I will burn that bridge when I get there

I am ditching the crossmember for the blazer, I don't like how much it sticks up above the frame now. I guess I will put it in my 67 when I do it. I am thinking about getting my old man and my buddy to help me build a crossmember and run c4 suspension. I am wanting to do this thing rite and not halfass anything. It will be more money but it will be worth it in the end. I wish I could afford the c4 dropmember but I can't justify spending that when I have the resources to make something work that is in my price range. I know I can get a complete c4 front suspension for $450 and that is brakes which I wont use and make my own brackets and run c5, spindles, rack, and control arms. I have a freind that can design the crossmember and my old man can fab it up for me. Suicide doors sells air springs for $540 so I can save money there over the air ride tech shockwaves. The kicker is I will have to buy some front wheels but I can use the current ones on the 67. I am going to concentrate on getting the rear fabbed up and then worry about the front.

Sounds like it may be awhile but as long as you get what you want on your project it will be worth the money and time spent.

I can't say that I have seen one of them done before, I could mount the rest of my guages in a console. You can do it if you take your time, or that is what people tell me

It is going to be a while before I get done but I will one day and I am sure somewhere along the line I am going to wonder why the hell did I tare this thing apart

I hope to be low I am thinking about running a back seat like below and having a trunk behind to to put luggage, battery, tank, amps, etc. The seat back will set up against the notch cover and the bottoms will be out in front like the blazer from the sema thread.
