Re: tonight.......
Sometimes that offer is a great hype to your own ego. There is nothing greater than having someone desire your work.

Re: tonight.......
not too be the bad apple of the bunch, but when someone asks to buy it, don't act like an A$$ or be rude. I have asked about prolly 100-200 vehicles(i'm only 18, i have a long way to go) and most are friendly and they let me leave my number with them, just in case. I have bought all my BB 3/4's that way. I may not remember the ones that were polite, but I sure as heck do remember the ones that were rude and pretty much told me to stick it where the sun don't shine. Just remember, if you're rude to someone, they might get an uncontrollable urge to vandalize your property or something, who knows what some might do. Just put a smile on and tell them you do not want to sell it, but will take their number just in case you ever change your mind. They're not upset, and you have nothing to worry about. Just a little food for thought...

Re: tonight.......
Most of the vehicles i have bought over the years were NOT for sale. And i have had hundreds of cars and trucks.
If someone gives you what you ask, sell it. Its only a truck. And there are TONS of them here for sale.

Re: tonight.......
Everyone's trying to catch their little piece of truck history.
I've been offered on many different occassions, but the answer is always the same, NO! Although it sure does make you feel good.

Don't sell it then -- just tell people its a family heirloom and it would take much more than they want to spend to buy it (say... 5 grand) If someone bites on 5 grand for your truck -- look at it this way -- your dad would probably want you to upgrade to something better anyway and wouldnt mind (you can get a lot of trucks on the board in the 5k range) Or just tell them nicely your just not interested. I get offers like that all the time on my Camaro when i'm at the track Last edited by streetstar; 11-13-2007 at 08:50 PM. |

Re: tonight.......
Good Story,
I Finished my truck (mostly) in the spring, since then I have had 7 handwritten notes placed on the windshield when it has been parked at restaurants and department stores. I could have traded it for a caddy, 2 different harleys, a basket case vette, a work van (yeah right) or as one person put it... "anything I have in me garage". I kept the notes and taped them to a corner wall of my garage as a compliment. The 7th proposal was at a local pub where a guy asked around the pub/restaurant until he found me. This doof pulled me away from some great wings and a really cold brew to show me his "perfect" 71 Camaro he wanted to trade me. This was the biggest bondo laden rust bucket to laugh at. I did not say anything, I literally picked up a piece of the yellow paint that had fallen off of the rear fenderwell and handed it to the guy and walked back into the restaurant. Needless to say, It deflated all of the other "offer notes" and into the garbage can they went. I'll just keep my c-10, thanks...

Re: tonight.......
i'll second that...
but yeah, if i own something, it's for sale, at the right price. I have people ask me all the time if it's for sale (usually at the gas station for some reason) and i don't hesitate to say, "Yep. First $10k takes it". I look at it this way, i have less than half that into it, so why wouldn't i double my money and run! I can think of at least 10 "project trucks" within a 150 mile radius of here that would be a lot of fun with $10k. Always wanted to go pick up that 67 Sub. hey, anyone want to buy my truck??? |
