Re: Kinda Like BURBARIFIC, Only FURTHER!

Mike is runnin 4000 RPM right now (no speedo) in Goodyear Arizona... with the a/c on? His text said;
"feeling guilty about using the AC on thanksgiving day"
He also says ppl are screamin by him, but the truck seems real smooth.
I love this one... I asked him about the truck... trying to take a stab at the MPH @ 4000 RPMs, he said;
"350 with points, AM465, don't know the axle ratio. 17 Ft WB, 3 driveshafts, 100 gallon gas tank, Blaupunkt cassette player, NO int RV mirror, H-pipe exhaust COOL AS F____!!!"

Sounds like he's havin a ramptruck-ific time.
That will NEVER sound as cool as burbarific... I don't care how hard you try!

Re: Kinda Like BURBARIFIC, Only FURTHER!

he said everything is smooth... the poor pic quality is probably just the phone pic... I sharpened it up a couple times which helped, but added the jagged lines too.

Anyone have a pic of the truck?

Re: Kinda Like BURBARIFIC, Only FURTHER!

That puppy must have some deep gears, or either he's flyin! My ramp truck with 235/85/16's (31" dia) SM465, Dana 70 with 4.10's runs about 90 at 4000. I have went that fast a few times, but I usually keep it 70-80 range! I can't wait to see the ramp truck!

Re: Kinda Like BURBARIFIC, Only FURTHER!

Since he said he doesn't know what gearset is in it, that tells me nhothing is listed on the SPID, which would mean the base model 4.56 gears. And without doing any math (and no knowing his tire size) that sounds about right.

Re: Kinda Like BURBARIFIC, Only FURTHER!

With 4.56's it would being doing around 75 at 4000 with 29.5" tires which is what is the standard 215/85/16's that is the recommended modern tire size for duallys. I went with the 235's to help me on the highway.

I was spot on then with my guestimate. I told him he was probably rolling along at 70 to 75MPH.

Re: Kinda Like BURBARIFIC, Only FURTHER!

Nice way to spend the Thanksgiving holiday! I am having to work AND entertain but will be tossing the old bird into the peanut oil in a couple of hours. At least it is sunny, bright and cold...not a usual Thanksgiving in rain country.

Re: Kinda Like BURBARIFIC, Only FURTHER!

OK Boys and Girls,
Heres the next installment. First, thanks to Andy and Jodie for keepin tabs on me throughout my journey. And of course, thanks to ALL of you folks that have offered up your homes and numbers along the way, I could not be more flattered. Right now I am in the lobby of the Motel 6 in Van Horn TX. I am hoping to be pretty close to Houston at the end of the day. (man this is a big A$$ state) The reason the picture is so blurry, is NOT because of Andys skills, it's because I didn't cut the plastic from in front of the mirror, (which I have since done) I will be taking a picture of the truck when I stop typing, and sending it to Andy. This truck is SO mechanically sound, it is unbelievable. DEFINITELY the perfect truck to drive cross country. I will hopefully talk to you guys from Hart Rods place next. By the way, Rob, PLEASE call me as soon as you get a chance. Take care, Mike

Mike, I think it is safe to cut the plastic off the peep mirror. It's not like you are going to return it...did you keep the receipt? LOL!
