Re: aluminum radiator with fans
Came in today, well actually last friday... UPS definately not my shipper of choice
Looks great and the custom size inlet/outlet are going to make finding hoses a lot easier for my ls swap. I hate paying extra to UPS but if you add it to the price of the radiator its still a deal. I also got the relay kit for the fans, its one less thing to make work and I don't have metripak connectors |

Re: aluminum radiator with fans
Nice! I'm looking into these too. How was the packaging, and what brand are the fans? SPAL?

Re: aluminum radiator with fans
I spoke too soon. The core is quite a bit wider than the radiator that came in the truck. Add on the fans and your clearance with a BB long water pump becomes really suspect

Re: aluminum radiator with fans
alright, now for the install:
According to this thread: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=250472, the stock 2 & 3 row radiator is 2.75" wide at the mounts and the 4 row is 3.5". This aluminum radiator is 3.25" wide. I have the smaller brackets so I added 3/4" to them. The rubber mount will need to be squared out and chamfered in some spots. Took a pic so you can see across the battery box for clearance, if you bb guys want some measurements let me know |

Re: aluminum radiator with fans
These are cool... I finally got my front clip mostly off last night and I noticed i have a little leak in my radiator.. It might be the hose but need to get it out and see.. also my trans oil cooler is not in the radiator.. With all this in mind I might look at just biting the bullet and getting one of these. I have a small block check with a fan coming off the front..if I got one of these would I keep that fan as well or would I not need it? This might be a stupid question but this is my first real rebuild and I am learning as I go..

Re: aluminum radiator with fans
bguild if you got this radiator you wouldn't keep the fan on your engine. I've seen aluminum radiators on ebay without the fan setup but never checked to see if they're from the same guy.

Re: aluminum radiator with fans
So do you just unbolt the fan and leave the pulley there and let it spin with no fan.. I am defenitly not a motor head but i plan a long way down the road to get rid of the 350 sb I have now for a fuel injected set up.. so If I have to buy a new radiator I would like to just buy the one that will take me into that part of my build.. Trying to plan for the future. (-:

Re: aluminum radiator with fans
yep, unbolt the fan and you should be good to go. to be honest though I'm sure the stock radiator can cool a fi setup. Hell it'd probably cool mine too but I needed a fan setup and this worked out as a good package deal

Re: aluminum radiator with fans
TravisH, can you take a pic of the outlet? I was wondering how the clearance between the outlet and frame compared to what I have now. Thanks, Dave

Re: aluminum radiator with fans
Not sure about dual fans but some folks had 2 inch circles put in the shrouds to allow more air through & around the rad for the hot summer. Anyone in warmer climates run into this?

Re: aluminum radiator with fans
Two questions. First has anyone put these to the test? They are pretty but do they work? Second is there is enough room for a big block? In the pictures the small block looked awful close or maybe it was just the angle and the was more room inbetween the fans.

Re: aluminum radiator with fans
Here's the Ebay ad...
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/aw-cg...m=300196654810 Price: $549+shipping You are bidding on a new Entropy Radiator aluminum radiator for '67 - '72 GM pickup, Suburban, Blazer and other GM truck applications that use the 28-1/4 inch wide x 19 inch tall core. If you need unadulterated cooling for your ride, THIS IS THE PIECE! Made in the USA. This unit features all aluminum construction, a nocklok forced nitrogen brazed core, two rows of 1.0" cooling tubes, precision TIG welded construction through out, aluminum stacked-plate oil cooler, strong 6061 hose connections, a stacked plate trans cooler with the correct inverted flare transmission fittngs, brass drain cock and overflow connections. If you're going to upgrade to electric fans, you only want to do it once. That's why this unit features the HP paddle plade fans - not the bottom of the barrel Spal fans. Spal makes a wide array of cooling fans - from cheap low powered units to high powered HP units. Don't be fooled into thinking your getting high powered fans just because you see the Spal name! Includes the aluminum shroud with dual 11.5" fans delivering a TRUE 3000 CFM. Together, they pull 40-45 amps (check the current rating on the cheapy fans that claim to pull high CFM). For a plug-and-play wiring harness and thermostat kit, please see my other auctions. This is available with or without the heater hose return connection - please specify at checkout. Buyer pays actual shipping costs and insurance. Visa/MC/Discover, Money orders and cashiers checks accepted.

Re: aluminum radiator with fans
still no reports on how well this radiator cools the engines it has been installed on. Anybody have any feedback that has installed one of these? His e-bay feedback is over 1000 with 100% positive feedback. Still want to hear on the performance before buying, thanks.
