Re: is it wrong??
If you are getting subsidized loans, put the money in a long term CD or something like that, where you will make good interest on what you don't need. Pay it back when you are done with school and use the interest as truck parts money.
I'm 32 and still not even close to paying off my BS degree.

Re: is it wrong??
No student loans here to worry about paying back as I only have a grade 9 education. [I guess there is an advantage to not having a higher education.]
Education is important but debt is like drug addiction!!!!!!!!!!! Undeserved gradification [toys before you deserve them] is the biggest cause of people going broke, getting divorced and having a stroke .... poor health. This thing about making 1.5 million over a life time more then the guy that only goes as far as grade 12 is crap as well. First off 1.5 million is not that much any more. I retired at 45 years of age and have not worked since and I'll be 56 this Dec/29 [my wife Linda is retired also so not to worry about whether I'm living off her or not.] The only thing that I have gone into debt for is real estate. Respect money and money will respect you. Work hard and invest wisely and you will have a nice home, family and toys and I'm the living proof of it. I don't usually talk about money as most do not want to hear about other peoples success but your 19 years old and what you do now can make or break you. If you have a flip attitude about money you will be a guy with an education and broke. Sorry for ranting on this, as this is only MHO for what it is worth. Let's face it what would I know as I do not have a PHD. esll.

Re: is it wrong??
Have you considered starting an IRA?
And as far as chasing girls, be careful, you might catch one. Then you'll really have problems.
