Re: Ochre? Keep or re-paint????

When it gets worn and faded ochre looks bad, but when it is deep and shiny it looks great. The guy who bought my hardtop laughed over the phone when I told him what color my Blazer was but when he saw it, he liked it.

My pardner wanted to paint it aqua when we first bought it in '99 but now she doesn't want it any other color but...

OCHRE!

Give it the 68 Anniverrsary white and ocre ---as that is really cool. Keeping it the stock color makes the paint job a lot easier--jams, firewall, inner cab areas, etc.

Gotta love that Ochre. When I bought mine a couple years ago, my wife said that was the ugliest color she had ever seen.

Tx Firefighter...If thats the case, know wher I might find one? LOL
Maybe Chevy should come back out with the color and have you be there spokesperson, kind of like that Bob guy on the commercial with the weird grin. They might sale more trucks, but the ladies would be the ones buying them for us.....LOL

Well, when I said I was planning on keeping it original he almost died laughing. So the question is- Should I keep it Ochre or take advantage of the opportunity to change it out. The interior is Saddle, and I have no intention of messing with it, as that part of it is very nice.

Thanks in advance!
I would agree with the body guy. That is an ugly color.. But its YOUR ugly color so do what you want ya know.... 1500 for a repaint, where do you live and are they taking more work???

Re: Ochre? Keep or re-paint????

Only you can decide what color you want. I knew from day one when I got one of these trucks I had to be a med - darker blue color from a newer model. This truck will be blue, but now I would kinda like to do a Copper Color one or a Black one with red interior.

I guess Orche is ok with the white stripe down the side, but not my favorite.

Bottom line is your are building the truck for YOU.

Ochre, no question! I would break it up with a white top at least. Shoot the piss out of the clear to it. I LOVE IT! Makes me wanna strip the interior of my truck and re-paint!

Thanks. I wasn't crazy about it when I bought but it's really grown on me now. It's one of those colors that you either love it or hate it.

Re: Ochre? Keep or re-paint????

One of the things I like about these trucks is the fact that they come in colors you don't see anymore. Mine is copper mist or something like that, I'm gonna keep it that way!

Re: Ochre? Keep or re-paint????

I say keep it ocrah, I like that look on our trucks! Afterall its your truck and personally, if I was paying someone $1500 and they made comments like that I'd be real careful of the quality. Its Just my opinion but comments like that are pretty unprofessional and may indicate just how professional the paint job may look in the end. I had a guy make a similar comment about a custom exhaust system on my Blazer. In the end there was some issues about installation quality and the reply I got was along the lines of "I said I didnt like it like that" I said "You are right, you did, but I never agreed to compromise the quality for your opinion of what I wanted." I am an ass ....I want it my way and thats that! LOL Just my .02.
