Re: stopped by the local yard today......

yes it was sad, when I saved my 61 cab out of missoula auto salvage, the guy with the loader wiped out 3 other trucks to retrive it, they were just getting crushed anyway, but still sad to see. They had a real hard time aiming the loader, and sheetmetal was always the first to go, I rejected a few great rust free cabs because the rockers had been wiped out by the loader.
btw the trucks in the pics are still here kelly has not crushed yet, but it is always a possibility, his yard is for sale and at some point it could all go away....

If you come I only ask that you live the way you find it... you know "when in Rome"... I have seen far too many come to stay only to bring too much of the places they left. Soon what so many have fallen in love with will be gone much like the salvage yard and all it's treasures. I'd give up every Wal-mart, Lowes, fast food chain, wallgreens, big box to have my home be like it used to be.

Re: stopped by the local yard today......

Runninglo, I was just joking! I did spend some time in Haver and Harlem in the early 70's when I came home from overseas with a guy from there I was in-country with. Also in Flathead Lake. Real nice, but my heart is in Dixie! I love to trout fish though, may be back one day.

I love visitors, hell Longhorn can tell you my shop and home were open to him on his burbariffic tour ( pre-reroute). Anybody needs a warm place to wrench on their way through town I'm all for it. 2000 sq. feet with air, welding, and most tools a old chevy would need plus truck and trailer with winch in case your motivation gives out.
Not much for fishin' , more into wakeboarding but I suppose I could park long enough for a guest to dip a line in.
anybody coming this way shoot me a pm for contact info. I'm located close to good hotels/camping a block off highway 93 and about a mile south of I-90.

Josh.

Know the feeling i'm not too old 30 now, where i live in the past 10 years has really grown. Where we use to ride 4 wheelers and have parties is nothing but high dollar home developments now and shopping centers. Kinda makes me sad to see what my kids are going to grow up with.
