lookin good. are they stock wheels. i'm looking to get some baby moons myself with trim rings but wasn't sure if they'd fit seeing as how my wheels are 8 lug. did you have to do anything special to get them on?

Too little too late but...

"POR needs rust to bond to. thats actually its purpose.. to nutralize rust."

I think POR and similar products are rust encapsulators, not neutralizers (sp?) which means they keep oxygen (in air) away from the iron/steel which keeps them from mixing and making rust...

That said, POR has fairly specific instructions on how to apply it, and the related products for prep. It may seem like a waste of time and money, but...

Also, I agree w/ a previous poster who said that wire brushing polishes the metal and creates a too smooth surface.

Just my opinions. Ignore as desired...

Well, no progress to show as of yet, but most of my work is done and it's now in the hands of a professional. Dropped it off at the paint shop two week ends ago, and I think he is about ready to start on it. I can't wait! To keep you guys happy, though, here's a pic from a while back that I took with my non-digital camera and just now got developed. Pretty neat shot, I think anyway.

not much progress yet, but a big step in my opinion. the previously installed crooked rockers and cab corners are now straight as an arrow.... I snapped these pics last week. Not much to look at but it is progress. Door gaps are about set now too.

Well, today I continued cleaning up the drivetrain. I had originally painted the engine tan anticipating a tan interior, but I've gone with a red interior, so decided to paint the enginred as well. About two gallons of mineral spirits later, I had it all clean and ready for paint. I'm slowly cleaning up all the engine accessories and putting them back on, but it is a very slow process. It's all I can do until I get the truck back from the body shop.

The Engine is a 355 with ported and polished 2.02 camel hump heads, keith black pistons, comp cam, roller rockers, ect. Not a real power house but it certainly is not a slouch. The motor is still on it's first oil change. Next I'll be cleaning up the transmission.

What kinda of pait did you use? Primer? I think i found the color for the 350 going in my willys wagon

It "Ford red" engine paint. Yep. I said it.

Well... I ordered some under hood stuff today from Skip White on eBay. I got a new aluminum water pump, ceramic coated 3/4 headers, and a few odds and ends. The roof straigtening is coming along nicely, and the cab is square with the bed now. Just starting to spread some mud on the work I did to the firewall. Not much to look at, but I'm excited. Oh yeah... the doors are pretty much done as well.

The lines are WAY closer than they ever have been, but still need a little tweaking. They are just roughed in those pictures.

It's going to be gloss this time. I've had enough with the flat black on anything.

I ordered my wheels today as well. I can't wait till they get here. I have to wait 5 weeks for them... witch sucks but it should be worth the wait.

I have been having a problem finding a air cleaner that I liked... new or used. All the used ones I liked on eBay had astronomical prices.

So, after a quick walk through at the pick and pull today, I walked out with three air cleaners to try out - and combine if I wanted to.

I ended up using one from an 80's van. I modified it a little. It had a butterfly on the opening of it along with a tube that ran down to the manifold. I trimmed the opening of it as well to give it a more finished look, and pulled out some kind of restricter that circled the carb opening. I then mad a patch, gave it a once over with the bead blaster, and test fit it. I think it looks kinda neat.

And here are some pics with the new Wysco water pump, after market alternator bracket, my new powder coated 3/4 length Chevelle headers, and the bead blasted air cleaner. I'm considering painting the air cleaner either black or silver. My truck is going to have some of the misc pieces painted silver, so I thought that might be a nice touch.

I'm still considering putting some kind of stretch metal or wire mesh at the opening of the air cleaner. Not sure what I'll end up doing there... I still need to make a modified stud to hold the lid of the air cleaner on. I plan on fastening it down with two button head bolts.

nice. looks kinda mean. what kind of van was it? maybe when you paint it you can do a color combo, like black body and red lid. or all black but paint the inside circle on the lid red. might make it pop.

Just a few new shots of the firewall. Also We have the inner fender installed for mock up purposes. Borrowed a set of 20'2 from my friend to see what kind of back spacing I was going to need. She lays frame on 20's with inner fenders in the front. Sorry no pics with the wheels the camera was broken that day!

progress has been sloooooow. Here's a shot of the first mock up of the doors and fenders. Still a ways to go, but we are getting closer. Also a few pictures of a dent getting pulled on the hood.

The list keeps getting longer for things to buy, but I have a lot of big purchases that should be getting here in the next few weeks.

The seat has been at the upholstery shop for over 6 months now, and I finally picked out a material for it last week. I've been messing with the belt set up for all my accessories a little, but I'm still waiting on said UPS man to get here with some stuff. I hate ordering custom **** that they have to build before they can even ship it, but I guess that's how it goes.

here's a few... the one doesn't have the brace on it. To tighten the belt you just slide the compressor up.
