mpvco needs it! Remember he's the board member in Pensacola who woke to the sounds of a drunk taking out three of his vehicles and some fence, minutes after the Pensacola cops let the drunk go without detaining him.

True.................... "Man I would love to have that burb as a starting point." Come get it, . "mpvco needs it! Remember he's the board member in Pensacola who woke to the sounds of a drunk taking out three of his vehicles and some fence, minutes after the Pensacola cops let the drunk go without detaining him." I know Jeff and saw the Burb when he first got it. That "was" a very nice original. I didn't think he was looking to get back in the Suburban market. R/

Re: To build, or to part..............??????!!!!!
I would say to either build it, or be willing to sell it complete to someone interested in a nice, complete, rebuildable burb. Its way too hard to find trucks and burbs this old that haven't been monkeyed with too much by past owners, etc.

Re: To build, or to part..............??????!!!!!
i parted one like that, actually had less rust than yours, big block, p-s, p-b. a-c, original paint and upholstry, even had original hubcaps but i had the "worth more dead than alive" mentality and cut it up after all the goodies were removed. i look back on it and wish i'd kept it intact. it was a good driver but all i saw was $$$$ signs at the time.
it's yours so you can do as you wish but i'm sure there many easterners that would love to have it.

Re: To build, or to part..............??????!!!!!
Rob,
glad you decided against parting. i parted a lot of trucks back in the mid 80s thru the early 90s. i never gave any thought to how scarce they would become some day. '68 anniversary trucks, 67-68 CST's, 71-72 cheyenne's and supers, suburbans, blazers both 2wd and 4wd, it didn't matter to me at that time. i'd take off good sheetmetal, option goodies, and whatever else i could make a buck off of and scrap the rest. wish i had it to do over again, i would save more than i cut up for scrap. on a positive note, i helped many other trucks live a longer life thru my parts and ended up with all the options you can imagine for my own trucks.

Re: To build, or to part..............??????!!!!!
Definitely build it. It is so original as is and nicely optioned. Looks like with a little work and time it would be a great daily driver/parts/people hauler. Plus, you would get some lookers and nods at any cruise in or car show.

Re: To build, or to part..............??????!!!!!
OK, looks like this is available again. Tim (UNCLE) has to much going on (just like my self, . And I agree with everyone, it's to nice to part. I got a little more history on the Burb the other day when I picked the title up from the older gentleman who owned it last 34 years. He and his wife were Engineers in Los Almos and they bought the truck from friends of theirs who had bought it new. They bought it to pull their balloon down to Albuquerque so they could go flying. In 1980 they moved to ABQ so his wife could go to Law School and he started teaching at UNM (he still does!) He says they drove the burb all over New Mexico and confirmed the mileage (102,000). He said they quit flying in the late 80's early 90's and didn't drive the burb much after that. It's a very nicely optioned burb that will make a nice "drive and restore" project. Looking to get $4,500 for it. PM me if you have anymore questions.
