Rare wheels. They are 20's. They look like Intro's but are not. They are discontinued and are no longer being made in the USA. The day I purchased them there were only 5 left in the country. And I bought 4 of them. I hope I dont messed one up.

Here are Ferrari Rims that may work. http://dallas.craigslist.org/pts/572589238.html

The guy only wants $5500.00 with tires for the set.

Re: Nicest,Most Expensive, Rarest wheels you have seen

The rarest have most of you beat I am pretty sure in all senses of one off.
They were on a TV show a few years back. A guy wanted a custom set of wheels for his Enzo - and he got them. They were up there in price. (The Enzo has a unilug design, and NO other custom wheels made for it, or wheels that fit it besides what comes from the factory). So, I dare say, that (or something like it) is the rarest.

Other than that, my "internet" buddy Jason Debler has a one off set on his Camaro.

They are pretty cool - and I am sure the wallet sighed a bit when he layed down the smack for 'em.

And I have actually SEEN a set of the Fikse FM5 wheels on a Camaro - they are about $4000 a set, but that's not impressive by today's standard.

Re: Nicest,Most Expensive, Rarest wheels you have seen

What exactly do you want? There are lots of rare expensive wheels out there. But, Why? Do you just want an expensive wheel to say you have them, or do you want something that looks good but you won't see on every other vehicle like Torque Thrusts?

If you want a rare wheel, call some wheel manafacturers and tell them what you want and they will make you some for a nice $figure$.

No offence but Torq Thrusts are probably the MOST used wheel on hot rods and trucks to date...I am sure they have out sold the Craiger SS of the 70's and 80's by a mile! Yes for a good reason, they look good on anything! I have the 6 lugs on my 68... I would love to know how many sets American Racing has sold... They hit a gold mine with that wheel...

Personally I think Billet Specialities has some of the nicest wheels on the market..

Re: Nicest,Most Expensive, Rarest wheels you have seen

Not near as rare or expensive as a lot of these others but they are higher than most of the more commom wheels.

They're Wheel Vintiques Billet Cruzers. I bought mine a couple years ago when the price was a bit more reasonable. The wheels were actually discontinued for several months and when they were reintroduced under a new name (can't remember the new name) the price had more than doubled. Last time I checked 17" s were running right at $700 per wheel plus $70+ for the knockoff caps. I talked to a rep from Newstalgia Wheel while I was at the Turkey Run and asked why the price had jumped so much on these. He said that Wheel Vintiques didn't really have any interest in them, their bread and butter is steel wheels.

See Ten, Dig those wheels...And as always your pics are great! I was going to run them on my 68 but for some dumb reason decided to leave it 6 lug... I am going to put new wheels on mine in the fall... I like the look but I want something with some lip in the rear..

They're custom built, so you can get whatever offset you want on them.

Re: Nicest,Most Expensive, Rarest wheels you have seen

see ten those are nice wheels. Are they true knock offs?

I like "dish" style wheels. The modern flat lookin wheels turn my stomach. They just make me think front wheel drive....

Re: Nicest,Most Expensive, Rarest wheels you have seen

Most expensive and rare would lead me into a story about the magnesium wheels of the 60-70's they are worth quite a bit of $$$ and make a period correct hot rod, well period correct. This thread has me confused are you just trying to get us to post retarded wheel prices or do you intend to wow everyone with the amount of $$$ you spent on a set of wheels? I have a tough time buying anything based on price, except if I am trying to SAVE money not BLOW MORE?

Re: Nicest,Most Expensive, Rarest wheels you have seen

These are my most expensive set, had the rears custom built, they are 20's and cost more just for the rims than my 24's with tires.

Re: Nicest,Most Expensive, Rarest wheels you have seen

WOW there are some nice wheels on here. Sorry I haven't been on, my comp got messed up. I'm back now.

Here is a pic of some 50's indy car wheels that I have that were suuposedly to have been for Parnelli Jones. They are magnesium and believed that only 6 were ever made. I have 5 of them and I know where the other is. What do you think?

Re: Nicest,Most Expensive, Rarest wheels you have seen

You can make your own Pimp Star wheels if you wanted to. The LEDs and microcontroller are pretty cheap and there's tons of sites out there that will show you how to put it together. I made this for my nephews bike.

That being said he can't change the pictures while he's riding and he's limited to his name in red The chicks dig it though.

I don't really want wheels that light up, but I can't decide if I want to run older looking wheels or newer ones. Anyone have any pics of budnik or boyd wheels on our trucks?
