Sweet. That is a great looking motor man. Those LS1's and Lt1's seem to sit so low

Re: Pics of my baby 86 GMC s/b fleet side.

Cherub, If i really had to do it again i think i would have gone with just a 350 and put an aftermarket fuel injection on it, just let me tell you that the LT1 engine are very expensive if you want to do modifications to it and it you dont have anyone one around that knows the LT1 if you start to have problems it can really get frustrating. I bought most of my stuff from Street and Performance here is their web site address www.hotrodlane.cc this is where i bought the computer the harness and all of the brackets and ac compressor and alternator and all of the special goodies. Dont get me wrong the engine runs like a champ, since i put aftermarket heads AFR, and a bigger cam and had the intake matched to the gaskets and had the throttle body openend up a little, now all i have to do is take the truck and have the computer tweaked a little to give me the most power from the motor with the aftermarket items that i installed. But this was my first attempt at doing a complete engine swap and i think it turned out ok, now i have to get the interior and then put some 22s out back with 20s up front and then a paint job and then i think i will be done and just drive and enjoy the truck. But like most of us on this web site money is short for now so it will be a while till i get her completly done, luckily i have a great wife that lets me do what i want with the money on working on the truck. So take care if you have any specific questions at all let me know i would love to help anyone out so they dont have to go through all the headaches i had to, later Michael.

Hi Michael,

you said at the moment you`ve got 10x17" with 315/35 in the rear - whats the backspacing ?
And whats the size of the front rims and tires (backspacing...?)

thanks, man

Re: Pics of my baby 86 GMC s/b fleet side.

Rob 73-87, I have 17x11 on the rear of the truck, i dont know what the backspacing is since my brother put the rims and tires on the truck before i bought it from him. I do know that i have a 1 1/4 inch spacer on the back of them since who ever did the backspacing screwed it up so with the spacer the tires stick out about an 1/8 inch of the fender well. If i was to take the spacer off then the back wheels sit so far in that the front tires and rims are sticking farther out than the rears and it looks really stupid. Hopefully this weekend i can take one off and find out what the spacing is.

Re: Pics of my baby 86 GMC s/b fleet side.

If your gunna run 22's in the rear I would get 22x10's and run 285-35-22's, there a good wide tire, I ran them on my 02 lightning and they looked pretty good. Also badass truck, it looks alot like my 81.
Heres a pic of my 81
