Re: RIP old girl

Hey man...I just read this, I want to say I'm really sorry about the loss of your best buddy.....Your story was a tear jurker man. That was a hard but honorable decision to put her down.

Although I never had a dog growing up, I have been around animals forever...

We just my kids their first dog....it's a little Yorky....They seem to like her....

Take care bro......

She was a beautiful girl...Even though she's not there physically, you'll always have her with you. And even if you get another that you love just as much, they'll never replace her in your heart.
Rest in peace sweet girl......

When a dog loves you. it's unconditional love, absolutely pure, no strings attached.
ALWAYS thrilled to see you, always ready to follow you anywhere. In short, you are their world, their best freind, you are everything to them. It's very hard to lose that kind of love.

Sorry for your loss, we all know what you're feeling.

Re: RIP old girl

I'm sorry to hear about your loss - it's never "just a dog", they are so much more than that. Here's a picture of my 10 year old friend, and he's losing a little weight right now, we're gonna take him in for a blood test this week, but Goldens are famous for their cancer. We'll see.

I hope he is well. Labs are known for cancer also. I guess what makes it so hard is she was still trying to be herself for me even thou i knew she was suffering, she couldn't eat without choking (i was having to hand feed her) and she got were she wouldn't hold her head up. I keep telling myself i made the right decision to make myself feel better. Since she was always by me i gave her the same respect and was with her to the end. Vet came out to my truck and did it there as i held her , i couldn't drive afterwards wife had to. Then took her back out to my place and buried her. Going to build her a good old iron cross this weekend and place at her grave.

Thanks guys for your support.

Sorry for your loss....

My Girlfriend moved in about 18 months ago, along with her yellow lab and a black cat. Well the cat can leave any time but there will be a fight over the dog..

Re: RIP old girl

This is such a tough thing to do, I have lost so many dogs over the years, but you did the right thing. I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my Gredle when I went away to college, she had a bad back. My two boys 6 and 7 lost Meggy last year to pnuemonia. I will tell you this, you won't replace her, but another dog will allow you the chance to heal. Lilly and Ginger make our days that much better!

Re: RIP old girl

Sorry for your loss. It is a very hard disision to make. We had a Staforshire Bull Terrier, her name was Lou, that we had to put down at 15. It was the hardest thing to do. My wife could not go with me she was so upset. That was three years ago. We had a Australian Terrier, his name is Waco, as well. When we barried Lou Waco hung his paws over the grave and would not back away even when we were filling the grave back up, dirt a flying. Waco was so depressed after Lou passed on we started looking for a playmate and found a rescue Assie in Detroit. Payed his air fair and he was ours. His name is Bear and he was two when we got him Dec. O6. He has turned out to be a great little dog and hunter. Bear lived in the city before he came to live with us and it took a bit of adjustment. He never had the room to run like he has it here and loves hunting in the woods. These rodents don't stand a chance... Both of these guys go every were with me. The black one is Waco and the red is Bear.

I had my Mom's dog put down last month, she was a blue tick that was 17, yes 17 years old. She was a memeber of the family. I understand your loss, and I am sorry. Here is my current friend, his name is Jack. He was a rescue dog, and I love him to death. He is my favorite dog of all time!

Sorry for your lose, It will get easier as times goes by, but like mentioned before their memory is always with you. I had a beagle mix( reggie) few years back. He got hit by a car and I had to have him put to sleep. I miss that little dog still today.

"Rainbow Bridge" is complete website.it will turn up on a search. There is so much there to help you heal from your loss.
Cheif rocka, just ONE! I have 7 Yorkies and a Staffordshire.Token is my Natural born daughter. She was a anniversary gift between my wife and I.When she was two months old I had shoulder surgery.I was incapacitated for months. The daily routine was.Get up with the QOV have coffee, take a pain pill, walk Token, she and would sleep on the couch til 12-1 when Token woke me up to go out. Then lunch a pain pill, walk Token and we would nap until the QOV got home. Then dinner and walk Token, take a pain pill, watch Tv with Token on my lap or next to me,Then Bed.Token has slept with me since she was 7 weeks old.The QOV was worried I would roll over on her but I never have.In all we have had 12 yorkies over the last 12 years. We have lost a couple to old age and even had a rescue that we fostered so our vet could do some medical for her. After surgery the vet told us she might live 2-3 months.Sammy left us in Aug of 2007. She had lived 2 years 9 months from her initial prognosis, lost one eye and about 1 1/2 #'s but danced around like a pup every time the QOV or I walked in the door.In all I would have to say that the more I know people(BB members excluded) the more I like my dog(s).

Re: RIP old girl

I'm very sorry for your loss. I saw this thread earlier today and thought "oh man, I can't read this. I know I'm gonna get choked up" but I had to so I could tell you I'm sorry, and to tell you about
rainbow bridge but I see PanelDeland already did. Years ago when I had to have my "baby" put to sleep, the vet's wife gave me a copy of Rainbow Bridge afterwards, I guess because I was crying uncontrollably like a little school girl. I have three dogs now, and they're my kids. I like dogs more than I do people.
