Re: Intresting things you have found in your trucks

A CB radio mount with the original owner's handle dyno-taped on the dash.."BlueDick".
A bunch of receipts from the '70's with numbers like "LA6-7547" or "Beacon4-2345", and a huge alligator lizzard once.
All of the above from my current GMC 3/4

Re: Intresting things you have found in your trucks

Found this and I have no idea what it is! It's heavy, made of a non magnetic metal, has a red translucent plastic "tip", is 9/16" in diameter and 1 3/4" long, it has no seams in it, does not come apart and it came in a small box with a dense foam form fitting insert. I have shown it to countless people and no one knows what it is. Any of you guys have a clue?

Re: Intresting things you have found in your trucks

I found a sweet old knife, a ton a 30-30 shells, and a dead baby bird in my jimmy. oh and a ton of those pennies that you mash to put a scene on them from all over the west coast! in my 68 was a BIG black snake!

My Dad bought a 65 Nova once and the guy told him that there was a old junk 80's Camaro trans in the trunk.......it was a M22 out of a 67 Vette....he only paid 200 for the car!

Re: Intresting things you have found in your trucks

Bought an old ford truck once for $500, and the guy said I could only have the truck if I took it and everything in it. The cab and bed were filled with all kinds of stuff. I paid for it and immediately drove it straight to the dump and pushed EVERYTHING right out onto the ground.

There was a bunch of new oil filters still in the boxes and several gallons of unopened oil I kept because they were on the top of the pile and it only took a second to grab. That and I think a bunch of unopened air fresheners.

I still have the truck and I often wonder what else was in that pile.

Re: Intresting things you have found in your trucks

Not mine, but My cousin was given a junkcar, I believe it was an old Pontiac Bonneville. When combing thru the debree in the trunk found a wod of money. If I remember correctly it was like 10k, or real close to that amount.

Re: Intresting things you have found in your trucks

Thats scarier than a snake....I found some assorted small change all late 60's/early 70's nickels and dimes so kind of cool, a couple of cheap spanners (wrenches) in the fender and what i think were a couple of drive in movie ticket stubs.

Re: Intresting things you have found in your trucks

From when my Father-in-law had it:

This is how much dirt was under the floor mat/sill plate in the driver's kick pad area (passenger side was similar):

I also continue to find live ammo as I clean the interior, which further speaks of the truck's transformation from "city slicker" (when I had it) to "ranch truck":

These were under the seat:

Re: Intresting things you have found in your trucks

My '70 LWB had been in my dad's shed for a couple of years with some dryer sheets in it but that didn't stop several mice from taking up residence. anyway I had to pull all of the vent ducts and every time I grabbed one it would fall apart and dump mouse poo all over me. smelled great too.

Re: Intresting things you have found in your trucks

Bought a cab out of a salvage yard for $50 ... once I got home and started cleaning it out, I found over $70 in silver dollars down in one cab corner.

Cha-ching! Free Cab + tip.

p.s. still have the silver dollars

I'm pickin' this up in a few days win the ice clears, and there is a locked truck box in the bed........could be good. There is also a locked bed-box that has not been open in many years.

Other than that, I found a gold dollar and a bunch of other change in my 67' and I also found some "crafty" patch work win I pulled up the carpet.....

Re: Intresting things you have found in your trucks

My truck came with a BIG screwdriver (for un-jamming the 3 speed, which I've never had a problem with), brand new jumper cables, a can of WD-40, extra parts in a plastic box under the seat, and a wrench in one of the fender cups. A couple weeks later, I got the original owner's manual, warranty papers (with protect-o-plate), and a letter from Colonial Chevrolet thanking my great uncle for purchasing the truck from them. The only thing missing was the build sheet. (Aren't they all?) Grandpa was looking out for me.

Funny thing, I had my truck for a few months and my friend lowered the passenger sun visor down, some stuff fell out... it was already split nearly all the way across, so I just ripped it open.. There was a whole stem of pot tucked up in there. Im not pot expert but it looked pretty damn old. Haha.
