Re: A/C air shut off valve

Can someone post a pick of the inside door vacuum switch configuration? Also it has a spring too?

Re: A/C air shut off valve

It works like this. https://scontent-sjc3-1.xx.fbcdn.net...rg&oe=65560872

Short answer is that's operated by selecting INSIDE on your controller. That closes the upper cowl air door, and opens the kick panel door. INSIDE also shuts water circulation to the heater core via the water valve, for 1971-72. OUTSIDE does the opposite, or really, anytime that lever is not on INSIDE, the doors return to their default positions, and the water valve opens water flow to the core.

Pre-71 water valves are a bit different, IIRC. Somewhere around there, sorta I really can only speak for 71-72.

Ooops, I see the OP is old as dirt. To answer the above question, the kick panel door assm. looks like this from the front. Here's the one at the upper cowl too. Neither are a "switch". They're vacuum operated, really cool stuff, IMO. The images don't show the vacuum lines.

The RH kick panel door assembly for an A/C system includes a recirculated vacuum actuator, two brackets, one return spring with hooks, a link, two push-on nuts, four screws, and two hex nuts.

Perfect! Exactly the pic I needed. Any line on spring and cap nuts.

Also, where’s the water valve and what’s its function?
