Well, I finally did it! Guess it was inevitable - I must be a hot rodder. Couldn't stand leaving it alone.

Re: Should I lift it?

Hey Stomp,

Looks great!!! Don't over think it. Just enjoy your truck and know it is going up in value just sitting there. The sick feeling comes from buying a $50-60k truck and losing a least $10k on the first mile and about $500 every month there after. Have fun with it. No one ever went to hell for molesting a virgin truck...................................just my .02...................Flat67

Re: Should I lift it?

Bigeasy,

Regrets? Well, I got the wheels off craigslist. They were a great deal but not authentic Classic II's. The holes are bigger in the classics and I wish I'd have waited for real classics. I'l probably switch them out soon. I may feel the same way on the tires later - wish they were bfg muds or wrangler mtrs.

As far as the lift. No regrets. If I'd have had to lengthen a driveshaft and permanently alter an original part I would regret that but that's just me. I'm chasing a fit problem with the rear extended brake hose right now with Rough Country. They are sending another but I suspect I will have to make it work with adapters.

Re: Should I lift it?

Swyfor5,

Most of the paint is original as far as I can tell. Attached is a photo of the floor when I replaced the terrible tan aftermarket cut pile that was in it when I got it. Save for the rocker repair and some repaint on the rear corners and hood, I think it has an authentic 'patina' of scratches and fading. The SPID lists MED BRONZE as the paint color. You can see a photo of the SPID in a previous post.

Re: Should I lift it?

Looks good, if you want to change your wheels, you should think about the 15 x 8" steel wheels and run original dog dish caps. I love that look, but I also like vintage 15 x 8" polish slots. The classic II's aren't old enough to complete that vintage vibe like slots or even old Outlaw aluminum wheels. Still excited that you lifted it. It really would have been a tough call for me. Trevor
