Well, adding up all I want to do to my truck would put me right around there... Lowered (with no cutting/drilling into original bits), 20" TTIIs, put the small mirrors on, sport bumper in the rear, restore/fix the misc. problems it has...

I'll be going to Afghanistan in a few months, won't be back until mid-09. Once back I was thinking of sending my truck to the same place that did yours... and then of course the whole "keep 'er stock" thought rears its ugly head

My friend says I should just sell my truck, get a POS 78, and build it just how I want it. I have a hard time not messing with things...

Re: were are all the bagged c10?

Kurt the problem with your friends theory is finding one clean enough, then your right back in the truck you already own. I can tell by what I know from your posts that your not going to be satisfied with an "average" paint job. That means you go buy a nice truck and spend 10-12k getting it painted. Yeah maybe a little less, but not much.

By the time you put new glass, rubber, etc in it guess where your at? Right back in the truck you own now, and it will be a year before you get to drive it.

Trust me, I had reservations about cutting mine up. Then I did the math, and it just didn't make sense to start with anything less. It only hurts for a little bit...

Re: were are all the bagged c10?

here is a good question for the guys with bagged trucks....when you do so do you have issues with the front tires hitting the inner fender wells??

Most of these guys probably have removed or cut their fenderliners. I had my bump stops set so there is about 3/4" of clearance before it hits.

Welcome to the forum upon1. I can't speak for everyone, but mine is set up with all but 2 leaves removed from the stock spring pack. We used an Air over leaf system from there.

A lot of good-looking trucks here.

Sounds like you are in need some help to get off the fence ... (I can relate.)
You've really got a good plan and a great canvas to work with.

Lose the mirrors, replace the step bumper with a sport bumper. (Yup.)
Add some drop spindles, and convoluted air bags up front (in keeping with the spirit of this thread).
Flip the rear and lose some leafs and add sleeve bags in the rear. (Like N2Trux's setup.)... Ummmm C-notch the Frame.
Add some bigger inch Potiac Ralley IIs wheels on all four corners. (Trying to keep it 'stock-looking', right.)
... just for starters.

Where is your bagged c10?

Marcus, you forgot the 1 piece windows and shaved bumper bolts on your p-shop. You're slipping man.

Damn, thanks for the photoshops! I'm down for everything but C-Notching the frame... if I could drop it without doing that, then I think it would be good to go...

Gee, Jeff, thanks for keeping me on the up and up.

I figured since Kurt was a bit 'shy' on modding his truck, I would leave the one-piece p'chop of the windows alone. But, since you insisted... If we're going with one-piece windows, I might as well eliminate the side window visors. Oh, and 'delete' a couple of other misc. buttons on truck aside from the bumper bolts. (Where's Waldo?)
(Sorry, Kurt. Your truck is just too easy to mod, errr I mean p'chop.)

Kurt-
The previous p'chop setup is with the rear axle resting on the frame rail. Of course, that's a no go without a C-notch (unless it's parked). So, if we lose the stock rubber stop and bracket and replace it with a snubber button, then we could shoot for an axle-to-frame rail clearance of around 3" (4" if you include the snubber button). That should give you some travel. Here's a chop of the rear raised ~4" (and the front, accordingly) at ride height. (The tires just sit proud (?) of the fender wells.

Re: were are all the bagged c10?

What size tires and wheels are you running on that slammed machine Agent Orange? I gotta know, because I got a set of 15x8 Old School Cragar SS wheels and was trying to figure out what tires I should run, then I saw your ride and loved the way your tires looked.
