Re: "The Mistress" Got a Tan....
Hey fellas, I see Geoff hasn't replied back yet, but I can answer a couple things.
The color is one of my absolute favorite colors. It is GM's sunset (or is it sunburst?) orange metallic that is used on the corvette, avalance, HHR, cobalt, etc... The body shop did the entire truck in a very short amount of time (I think only a few months?). They also had LOTS of rods there! There was a 79 or so F-150, an early 70's trans am, a 65-ish Chevy short fleet, several 69 camaros (I think there was 3 of them) and there were a couple others. Top notch stuff! They were doing a repaint and adding a cowl hood to a 01/02 or so Camaro when I was there.

By the way....67Redneck is correct...the paint color is sunburst orange metallic....not sunset...(that's the color of the 08 corvettes)

Re: "The Mistress" Got a Tan....
Yeah, I couldn't remember which it was... GM has a history of changing paint colors just a hair and renaming them to confuse the hell out of people

Sweet! I love the feeling of new paint. What do you have for drivetrain, wheels/tires, etc.?

Re: "The Mistress" Got a Tan....
That is one beautiful truck!
At first I thought it was Atomic Orange Metallic (from 07 vette), but i then read it's SOM. Both colors are nice. Last summer I had my racecar painted the Atomic Orange and I'm real happy with it. It looks bronze in the shade and bright orange in the sunlight. Shade ^^^ bright sunlight ^^ Anyway, i LOVE your truck. I am going to be getting mine painted next year (as soon as I can save up the money) -- right now it's just faded red.

Re: "The Mistress" Got a Tan....
Okay,
Maybe I should have the mods move this to the projects and builds area, but wanted to get a few more photos out.....Enjoy.... Pic 1 is where I have laid down some heat shielding...not done with this yet...and I guess I need to get that fuel tank neck grommet on too...I know it'll be a PITA!!!.....but tape looks cool, right?!?!!?....OHHHH....look at that original blue paint on the firewall....that stuff's 40 years old....hahaha...Actually...I'm a little embarrassed to say that I didn't take everything off the firewall before paint (remember I'm a Resto virgin)....so I'll paint it before covering.....hey...no making fun!!!!.... Pic 2 is a driver side shot....still need to get the windshield and back glass in..REMINDER to self....self, get bigger wheels and tires Pic 3 is the engine bay...I guess i need to knock a little dust off that radiator!!!....BTW...nothing special under that plastic bag either....just a little ol' holley 4 barrel carb.... Pic 4 is another engine bay shot....bought that booster/MC from Sammy.....Thanks Sammy!!! Pic 5 is the new sport bumper I got from Christian's Classics....Thanks Tim!!! Okay more to come later!!!!
