Re: What did you get done? 04/13

went to the annual Prime Steel car show on sunday with the wife and boy. less of a turnout this year and the cars weren't all that great. seems like it's the same ones every year. did, however, see the GrandMaster built by Chip Foose that's owned by Bob and Wes Rydell. It was the first time i'd seen this car in person and the Rydells live in-town and their dealership is a block and a half from my house. the car was absolutely stunning. hands down the most beautiful piece of craftsmanship i've ever seen in person. as a car guy myself i could see why it won the Riddler in 2001. it was just a shame that probably 80% of the crowd had no idea what a piece of art and award-winning history they were 3 feet away from. absolutely made my weekend.

Re: What did you get done? 04/13

looked at a rcsb '82 C-10, tan in color, like my '86. It has an inline 6 and a 4 speed manual w/od. The guy wants 1,200 so I may pick it up. Later Saturday night me and a few friends tinkered with a motorcycle got it running and chopped the front bars a little. Sunday I went to a small local swap meet, not finding anything. Then loaded up the rest of the frame and rear axle from the truck I demolished last weekend, hauled it to the metal recycler on Monday morning. Actually an unusally productive weekend

Did a bunch of homework to get ready for the upcoming vortec head swap.Bought a carb rebuild kit and made a plan of attack to beat the cold rich condition the '80 is suffering from.Just need the temp to rise a few more degrees outside and it'll be go time.

Re: What did you get done? 04/13

Wife and I spent the weekend through today in Pigeon Forge, TN (25th Wedding Anniv & my 44th Birthday celebration). Got a couple pics of spin up of Grand Run in PF starting this week through the weekend. Will post in new thread. Wow, some really nice rods there already! Going back later this year with the lowrider.

AIR? Do you still have inspections on something that old? Or is it a perfect resto?

Looks nice.
