Re: 65 C30
I pulled the plugs and soaked the cylinders today. It has the original plug wires with the 65 date code they look to be in good shape we'll find out when I start it I guess. I'm leaning toward stock appearing with better brakes and 1 piece 19.5 wheels right now. After I washed it. I even like the color scheme. It is white and the top isnt light blue like I thought, it's more marina blue like came on the chevelles. It should look realy good with new paint, and the reverse tutone is different. Here's some engine pics ,after cleaning. check out that horn.

Re: 65 C30
Great shots of under the hood. Correct green paint (not orange) on engine and intake manifold. I would check frame for correct fish plates and welding work. It looks like it was extended after it left the factory.

Re: 65 C30
For the most part it looks relatively untouched other than some hoses and clamps in the engine compartment. The tag shows a 133 inch wheel base. I can see where the frame was welded together at the kick up in front of the rear wheels.

Re: 65 C30
Here's a little update . I emailed the dealer didn't get a reply back. After I finished soaking the cylinders. I hooked up a gas can, pulled the choke, bumped the key and it immediately started. It ran perfect no smoke at all sat in my driveway running for 6 hrs with no problems. Not bad considering it hasn't been run since 1990. Then I dropped the air cleaner stud in the carb and forgot about it . After finding another carb for the butterfly and base plate and a rebuild it's running good again lol. I finally found some 19.5 wheels, got the front tires mounted. 225/70/19.5 they turned out to be the same height as the stock wheels and tires. I need to order the back tires when I get some extra cash. I bought a 89 crew cab dually that had a small fire, for parts today. I should have Disc brakes, power steering, and sway bars soon. It has a SM465 and a 14 bolt I might swap over also. If I can come up with some more money I'm getting the 454 with it. The wheels are kinda ugly at the moment (matches the truck haha). I'm going to paint them white, or get some chrome simulators.

Re: 65 C30
I have a drivers side one, but it doesn't appear to have the same brackets as that one. Might because that thing is HUGE and or mine is just a little different. Who knows. I took it off simply because I don't like it. If you decide you want it let me know. If not it will sit in the garage until I figure something out for it.

Re: 65 C30
Those look like west coast mirrors. If there's a truck parts store or a truck stop nearby you might find some. Those brackets are going to be the tough part. You can probably by just the mirror head, clean and paint the brackets.

I didn't even think about the truck shop for the mirror head. I used to work at the international dealer. I'll ride up there and see what they have. My biggest problem is the brackets like you said. Someone hit something with the right side knocked the head off and bent the brackets so that's why I'm looking.

Re: 65 C30
Thanks for the pics. I fogged the cylinders with PB blast. Let it sit 24 hrs, turned it over by hand a couple times. Loaded it down with more PB blast , let it sit and turned it. I added some trans fluid a few times. I did this everyday for about 2 weeks before I even tried to start it. If you feel it stop when your turning it don't force it just keep soaking it and trying to turn it until it's free.

Re: 65 C30
It doesn't always work, but cant hurt to try. Ive done it on 4 engines, 3 were fine, one I ended up breaking a ring. You just have to take your time. I'm impatient and want to get it started right away. It about killed me waiting that long lol. Good luck with the Camaro. If you have anymore questions when you get ready to try it, feel free to hit me up.

Re: 65 C30
The 19.5 one piece wheel is a great choice for all 1 tons. It looks a lot more modern than the 18" wheel that came out in the 1940's.

Re: 65 C30
We just unstuck a big engine, 2008 c.i. V-8. Cylinders are 6-3/4 X 7". Started with a gallon of Marvel Mystery Oil. Two weeks later it wouldn't budge so we added a gallon of Kroil. We then let her set for 2 weeks and applied the force of 2 teenagers with bars in the flywheel. The Kroil did the trick.

Re: 65 C30
Picked up my parts truck yesterday, and started stripping it. Removed most of the burned up stuff. the engine is ok except for a melted alternator fan and power steering cap. cant wait to get the 454 in the 65. If anyone needs body parts hit me up.

That'll make that '65 a nice truck to drive. What all are you going to swap over to your '65?
