Re: Sat pics (4-26) Fresh Orange!
that gas cap matches the ones on my boat, should be able to pick one up from glenwood marine. i like a whole lot of things on that truck, stance, bumper gaps, color, and the exhaust is sweet.

Re: Sat pics (4-26) Fresh Orange!
Orange: I found this tire/wheel info on your site. I was wondering if that is still what you are running since you dropped the truck, and what the back spacing is on the wheels. I had the same wheels on my 71 until they rusted from within and would like to replace them sometime, but forget if they had backspacing or not.....

Re: Sat pics (4-26) Fresh Orange!
OK - I'll try to answer a few questions that I have seen just scanning through without quoting them - so if you asked something, just read...
The Gas Cap: It's made by Air Ride Technologies. It's called a "Cool Cap". Here's a link : http://www.hotrodsusa.com/store/air_coolcap.html I don't know if they still produce them or not, but it works great, and I have never had a problem out of it. I didn't use the tool they show on that page, just mounted mine directly to the side of my cab inside the old filler with a rubber gasket to keep it from leaking. (72BLUZ can tell you, he studied it). The exhaust. From header flange back I have Dynomax full length headers, into 2.5" Alum., with cutouts welded in, into Mello-Tone Single Chambers, then exiting as you see. Here is an .mp3 sound clip (right click save as for my bandwidth sake if you don't mind). http://slickorange.com/board/orange.MP3 This is obviously CAPPED. I will try and take an uncapped later. Before anyone asks cam is Crane & lift is .458". Tires are different than what is listed on my website. I have to update it. I am going to be spending some time on it hopefully next week. The tires are now 275/60/15 rear, and 255/60/15 front. Drop is 3" Front, 4" Rear. Front lowering coils, rear lowering leafs (ECE). The bumpers don't sit really low - that one pic is a illusion. The lowest point is my long tubes - they are 4.5" at the bottom of the flange. If anyone has any questions, just ask in this thread...I'll keep an eye on it. Thanks to Asa for the wonderful pics! |

Re: Sat pics (4-26) Fresh Orange!
Not quite. I was telling the guys yesterday my plans for it. I want to go with some fabbed aluminum valve covers, powdercoat the intake black, and some other minor details that will end up costing me lots of money.
But, here's the now for grins and giggles: You gotta remember though, this is my daily driver. So, when I take it down, I am riding my bike to work (I work close). When I did the suspension last week, you better believe I finished it in two nights. It was rough riding the bike on 4 hours of sleep though. DLB |

I was asking about the exaust kit? did you make the humps over the axle or did that come pre-bent and who sells it with a down angle like?

Beautiful truck Orange! I'm loving the Cragers. I never thought seeing Cragers would be breath of fresh air, but there's a real good reason they were so popular back in the day!

Orange: Great Truck !!! SeeTen: Great Photos, like always, Again & Again !!!
Orange: I really like the way the AC control & stereo head unit are swapped-positions. What is the company source of the AC control panel ? Looks well-made & very functional. SeeTen: How do you do the solarized photo-look like you did to get the blue-tone of the dash/AC controller that you did ? Hope you don't mind sharing your secrets, since we all love & look forward to seeing your photo talents. Congrats & thanks to both of you very-talented guys. |

Re: Sat pics (4-26) Fresh Orange!
orange your truck is beautiful, thanks for posting up the tire size thats the look/stance i want to go with, can you post up the wheel size? im guessing its 15x10 in the rear and 15x8 in the front? also do you happen to know the backspacing on those (front/rear)?
thanks...

Re: Sat pics (4-26) Fresh Orange!
Some of that editing I do with the Software that came with the camera. Believe it or not these were all shot with a point and shoot camera in full auto mode. I use Photobucket for my image hosting and it also allows me to due some editing on their site. The Blueprint type edit was done with photobuckets tools. The only drawback to using their tools is I don't have a full sized image like I do if I edit with Kodak easyshare software.
Thanks guys! Last edited by see ten; 04-29-2008 at 04:54 AM. |

Re: Sat pics (4-26) Fresh Orange!
Dalton, the drop and the new tires look GREAT!! Did you have cutouts on the truck when we came down? I know they had to have been capped though. I wish I could've made the show, just too much other stuff going on. Congrts on the award. Will you be going to Maggie Valley this weekend?
BTW, the new MC/booster looks good. Alot nicer than the original setup, huh? Asa, great job on the pics.

I like the BEDRUG! Do they list the 67-72 SWB or did you order it for a newer bed knowing it would fit?

THANKS EVERYONE for the compliments. You make a fella feel nice about his pickup. I know it's not near as nice as some, but hey, I honestly do drive this thing everywhere I go. It killed me pulling it out of the garage this morning...it was nasty (raining) outside. Oh - Matt...yup, they were there. And yes, they were capped. You can't hear a thing if they are open. I had my radio on for the sound comp. and didn't even know it. DLB Last edited by Orange; 04-29-2008 at 04:40 PM. |

Re: Sat pics (4-26) Fresh Orange!
I can't help it bro! When I see a man who looks like he's old enough to have been drawing social security for quite a while doing burnouts in a hemi car with nitrous.....It just made me smile! Not to mention a limited edition factory race car that he wasn't having a coniption fit trying to keep people away from.....I might not ever see another one of those in person in my life. I used to feel if it didn't have a bowtie in the grill that it didn't deserve my attention or recognition as being a nice ride. I think I've become more tolerant and receptive to the other flavors as I've aged. You can still be my friend and just ignore me when I start jabbering about things that aren't from GMs stable!
