Re: Popular Red color
Thanks guys,
Took the 67 in today, should be ready at the end of the month. I'm shaving marker lights/fuel cap and using those combo headlights/turn signals (will fill where turn signals went). Also putting in those one piece - no triangle windows. I"ll still have the interior to do and will be on rally's for a while. Oh... and the color.... Torch Red.... though you can't go wrong with any of those mentioned. thanks again Last edited by Mondo; 05-04-2008 at 12:44 AM. |

Re: Popular Red color
I'm pretty sure Viper red is not a "regular red", it's more than a base\clear application, you just used a one stage.

Re: Popular Red color
Hmmm... All the viper red i've sprayed never has been a tri-stage, always just BC/CC.

Re: Popular Red color
You know, that's my bad.... I helped my buddy paint a rig with viper and he selected a 3 stage paint... It was just coincidental that the other guy I talked to (that said it was expensive) used the same type of 3 stage paint. I was assuming it was the same as the factory paint.

Re: Popular Red color
The first time we painted my truck we painted it 90 camaro torch red. After 3 years of everyone saying, "are you the guy who drives that orange truck?", I painted it 96 firebird bright red. The 96 color was the same code as fire red from the 80's. It is a darker more red red than the torch. This time around I am liking House of color blue blood red.'

Re: Popular Red color
Torch Red.
These colors show the orange in it with full sun. If you use a white base coat, you get the orange tint. If you use gray, it gets darker like Victory or Gaurds Red. You can never have too much red, the key is getting it all to match in the right shade.

Re: Popular Red color
The second picture Brad posted, the truck inside the business, is a nice red!!! I met the guy that owns it, and I bought the bed from him. I was thinking of painting mine silver or red, but after I got the bed home and put it on my frame, I'm going red.
The viper red on Nitro's truck is awesome, really bright! |
