Having a manual transmission seems to work around here. I've seen people from my friends' balcony downtown walking up and down the street looking for cars to break in. They pause and when they don't see a selector indicator at the top column and walk off.

I heard of someone the had rigged a brake lock,mash the brakes and lock them,dont know the setup but try stealing a car with the brakes locked.

I have a battery cut-off switch installed on mine. Also it's parked first in line outside the garage, then a Suburban behind it, and then a Chevy van behind that. The driveway is only wide enough for one car, so they're gonna have to work to get my truck out.
Also when the battery is actually in the truck, 75% of the time it's discharged.

i think fuel cut off would be the best Because anyone can run a wire from the pos side of battery to the hot side of coil (to keep it running) and start the older chevy by pass the starter.

I keep it in the garage, then park the gutted BBC S10 project infront of that, then infront of the S-10 is the gas mileage getting Beretta. And I leave the keys in that thing...no one wants it.

This method works well and gets great gas mileage !! Not very fun sitting in it makin motor sounds though

Accordingly, the story accompanying the photograph attached is about a "Texas redneck" who met with this unfortunate injury after drinking too much Lone Star beer and attempted to steal a classic GMC pick-up. The owner of the truck installed a 3-phase, 480 volt electric fence anti-theft device.......... Needless to say the new security system (available at Wal-Mart in June) is a complete success.

I gave up trying years ago.
I used o work in the car audio industry and I have seen everything get bypassed one way or another. After a summer as a tow driver, I learned way more than I should have. I lock my truck, keep it in plain sight, but I hide anything of value and have it insured to the hilt. The bottom line is: If someone wants it bad enough, they will bring a flatbed.
