Re: what do you do?

Well seeing it is going to be in the 80's here today, I think i will take my inner fenders and radiator support out back and spray some primer on them. I think I will work on the truck today or bolt the front sheetmetal back on my brothers car so I can get it out of my garage to get more room. Maybe I can get away with spraying the firewall in the garage too. That is going to be a tricky one.

80's ?? I think it was little more than that !!

Getting motivated is hard some times. My problem is that I have TOO many projects.

So whats happens is that I get bored of one, then pick up another. I'll watch a good episode of Pinks.....then I feel like dropping everything and building my SS Nova.....Then I might see a nice rock-crawler cruising down the road, then I'll want my Chevy powered Zuk on the road. PITA !!!

Beside the cars, I have a major Honey-Dew list of projects around the house. I am the king of un-finished projects !

Besides all the above, I have customers rides to work on all the time.

This also slows thing down.

I think Tony hit it on the head with the idea of tackling the small stuff first. That has worked for me as well. Standing back, looking at the whole picture, walking around your project and determine what ALL has to be done. Write it all down, and start checking stuff off as you go.

I too have a wife and two kids...which they are all great and very undestanding....Not sure if your a family man or not, but when you get home, and both of your kids come-a-run'n and dam near knock you on your ass is a wonderfull feeling...so there must be a balance there, they grow up too fast !!!

If you get flustered..then you need to back up and take a breather, or come back the next day....

Hope all this has helped...

Later

Re: what do you do?

80's in SF not San Jose. It was hotter though. Yahoo weather sucks.. It is supposed to be a hot one again today Ya see I am on fire. I am leaving early for a bicycle ride. Going to do my Tiburon loop and hopfully when I get back will have the energy to maybe prep my inner fenders and radiator support. Hey maybe I can get it running before June 1 st..
Luca gets a bit upset when I tell him I am going to work on the truck and he is in school. He likes to help even though it really isn't help. He will hold something for me if I ask though.

Post Re: what do you do?

Hang in bro. Im a mechanic full time so the last thing I want to do when I get home is do some more wrenching. I just got my overtime taken away though, tough times at work. Anyhow, I have fridays off now. Extra time to do some stuff. Just hauled the old junk suburban to the scrap yard today actually, got $438.00 for it. Almost got enough money for my disc brake kit!!!!

Hang in there. I found out my biggest motivation is going to car shows. I get jealous of all the cool rides there.

Trust me, we all feel your pain!!

Re: what do you do?

Yea, you have to just hang in there. My truck is 20 miles away at my Dad's place and I only work on it on weekends. I keep plenty of pictures on my PC and watch a video on it running when I need a boost.

Happy truckin
