Re: A new Addition
Thats what I was thinking too. Flip kit, drop shocks, and 1" lowering springs up front. Since the trucks have a 2" rake from the factory. I want to keep a little rake so the trim is level not the truck.

Re: A new Addition
I like that color also. I wish the P/O didn't spray primer all over it. Plan is to re-paint it the factory green with a little pearl mixed in.then do the roof a pearl milkshake white. I'm debating on weather to the side stripe white or not. It was a solid green except for the roof.

Hey does Western Chassis have a web site. I tried westernchassis.com and got nowhere. Some help would be appreciated.

Re: A new Addition
Personally, I'd install the flip kit and just make it road worthy. The steelies and hubcaps look is really growing on me. A repaint with the green and white would be pretty cool somewhere down the road, but I like the weathered look.
The thread where 454HO installed his DJM flip kit sold me on that one. The install looked pretty easy and it's hard to beat that price. http://www.67-72chevytrucks.com/vboa...d.php?t=281883

i used westerns flip and love it. it came with everything except the shock extenders which i highly recommend. only thing i had to do was trim the bump stops.

Re: A new Addition
Did you get the basic kit or the one with the C-notch?

Re: A new Addition
Did you have to remove the center locating bolt out of the springs and flip it over to install the flip kit?

Re: A new Addition
Ya I got it. Thanks for the help. It seems like a better deal than the DJM kit since it comes with the lower spring plate and is only $80 bucks as opposed to paying $90 and having to modify the stock spring plate and flip the locating bolt IMO.

Re: A new Addition
Well I've been slowly working on the truck. a little interior work and working on giving her a fresh coat of primer. it's not finished yet I still have to do the tailgate and get my other hood out of storage(the one on it has to many chips and dents)and put a coat on it. but it's looking alot better.

Re: A new Addition
I just put my ralleys on it. they where on my Burb when I got it so they are painted to match the Burb. The color kinda worked with the theme. My wife took it to work so pics will have to wait til she gets home.

Re: A new Addition
Wht did the mirrors come off of? I'm thinking of replacing my dumbo ears and want something a little larger than the sport mirrors.
That color looks good - its a nice change from the black or grey primer you normally see. |

Re: A new Addition
The mirrors where on it when I got it. They look like some cheap Kragens replacements. I like the green primer cuz it is a self etching which I think makes it stick better. that and I plan on painting it lime green again. Thanks for the feedback guys, I'm finding out that this thing is coming together pretty good without spending alot of money on it. So far with the $750 I paid for it I'm about into it for about $1100 total. I got my other hood and rallys out of storage, put the rims on and next is to sand and prime the hood and tailgate. This thing sure is taking alot of sweat equaty as the temperature has been in the high 80's to mid 90's with a couple of 100's this last month.

Re: A new Addition
They're 225-60-15 front 31-10.50-15 rear. I want to run a 275-60-15 or a 295-50-15 in the rear. those rear tires are to big for my taste they need to have a lower profile to work with the drop that I want. them all terain tires in the back look to much like a 70's jack up the rear end thing to me.I like a slight rake (like 1-2") not the 4-5" like it has now. those tires tucked on my Burb with a 6+"drop but I think they will look funny with the small front tires if I drop the back. This thing is looking liike a 70's rat rod.

Re: A new Addition
I like the green primer a lot. I really like the bumper guards too. Are you keeping those on?
I dug the steelies better than the rallys, though. I need to look for a set of those.
