I don't know how I missed this one. Looking good! Would you be willing to cough up the info on your I6 goodies, like where you got them?

Re: Kentucky Burban is this realy a build thread?
WELL, carbs and intake were Evil Bay find pulled off a running 235.
Headers were actually purchased from Jegs, a little known fact is that Jegs has a price match policy. I searched the web and found these for $194 called the guy and he said they were out of stock and it was a 3 week lead time, he also said that he was the manufacturer and Jegs bought from him. So I called Jegs and their price was $209 they called and verified his advertised price was $194 so that is what I paid. Ceramic coated. Valve cover and side plate I bought off Patrick's. Google "Patrick's" it's the first one to come up. He builds nothing but trucks, mostly 50's but will run up to 62 in some areas. His price on the cover and side plate and stud kit was $200 best price I'd found. Oh great place to buy ring and pinnion 3:35 for $200 that is the kit. That is the next thing to happen to the Burb. Back to the carb's and intake, Evil bay, probally paid what it would cost to build this set up with new parts, but running and already in sync some what was better than me fumbling around and not having a clue how to set them up. Had all the linkages too. Next little project will be an oil filter relocation, not sure if I'm going to keep the can or go with a spin on. I also need to talk more with the Vitage Air folks about a system big enough to cool a BURB and I6 brackets. I figure it will be ready just in time to put it back in the Garage for the winter....LOL |

Hey there from Frankfort, I'm not up that way much but if I can get free I'd like to meet both you guys. I have a '65 3/4 extra long dully. I have been looking around for some extra parts but can't seem to find anything worth taking off around here. Next project in-line after the '58 in my avatar.
Later,\ Bryan |

Re: Kentucky Burban is this realy a build thread?
Well Progress is SLOW. However yesterday at the Street Rod Nationals here in Town. I happened upon a vendor that had some windshields. I Picked up a NEW Front Windshield at the Show for $238 I was blown away. I spoke with 3 other vendors at the show all had glass and all were over $450 for a front windshield. This one is sitting in the shop awaiting instalation. I think someone had their prices wrong. I even ask them to verify the price and make sure that it was the right Windshield. It was and they were set on the Price....225 + tax = $238
Pays some times to get up early and hit the shows when they first open. |
