Let's get that thing fired up Geoff so we can do some cruising! If I can't be there, I'd definitely love to see the video! Louie.

Re: Project: Mistress
Okay, a small update....I am still wiring this !#@$ thing....just taking my time and trying to make the wiring look half way decent.....We did add a 1" spacer under the carb for a let more get up and go......and since I wanted to try a little something different on the dash....what do you guys think of this?....The PO installed those hidious wooden dash thingys....and of course being a resto virgin, I did not replace the dash so I had a friend cut out a diamond plate template where I can put 3 gauges (volts, oil, and temp) on the top...got the gauges from Geoman...thanks....the middle will be for the stereo and the bottom the heater control....I have a 3-hole dash that I have white gauge overlays for too....(sorry no pic of that )
Also we I installed the e-brake cables, but one of the rear e-brake cables I got at the junkyard started binding up....so gotta get a new one....I also installed the exhaust....2.5" with H pipe, Flowmaster Series 40's and turndowns just past the rear trailing arm brackets....I think it'll be kinda loud!!!....check it out!!! Also, threw in a couple pics of my bro's vette....'72 454....When I get my truck done, we are going to do up some pics like seeten does!!!....just not as professional!

Re: Project: Mistress
Okay,
This past weekend, my bro and I worked on plumbing in the brake hard lines and power booster and MC. I want to thank PanelDeland, Luvlegs and Stormrider for the returned phone calls to my frantic question about the prop valve with a 10 lb residual valve plumbed behind it to the drum brakes!!! These guys called me right back and were pretty sure it wasn't needed!!! Thanks guys....So we bench bleed the MC, installed it on to the PB and started bleeding down the system.....By the way, for those rookies like me....the hayes manual says start at the passenger rear wheel first....WRONG....start at the driver rear wheel first (or at least start there if your lines run down the pass frame rail!!!)...Thanks Deland for that advice!!!....Here's a pic of the MC. PB and Prop valve installed....Also pictured is the 3-hole dash gauge w/ whitegauge.net stickers.... Also, installed the door panels.....Just using these till I can save up for the saddle interior I really want to do.... Now I got to get this thing wired and started!!!!ARGH!!!!

Re: Project: Mistress
Well...this weekend I continued to work on the electrical system....hiding wires, tieing everything back and under the dash, etc. (sorry no real pics)....hooked up the system to a battery charger and am trying to work out all the gremlins!!!ARGH!!!!.....Starting checking all the grounds to verify I didn't screw anything up.....Still gotta ground the taillights and then FINALLY try and start her up....but it'll be another couple weeks before I can....ARGH!!!.....
We did get the carpet down, door handles, window cranks, etc.....really starting to take shape on the inside....stay tuned!!!

Re: Project: Mistress
Those dang distractions....Well....i put in alot of time finalizing the wiring and correcting a STUPID wiring mistake I made....as they say if it doesn't work the first (or second) time READ the instructions!!!!.....Finally got the tail lights working, got the Painless wiring dash panel plug wired so the dash panel works, got the front/ rear side markers and park lights right but ran out of time with may helpers (need help from my brother and Dad because sometime I wish I had my own brain!!!)...
I am very excited though....I plan on connecting the electric choke and starter up this weekend....make some final wiring adjustments, add some fluids, prime the oil through the system using our home made distributor primer and try to fire her up!!!....Wish me luck.....pics will be posted next week...I PROMISE!!!

Re: Project: Mistress
IT'S ALIVE!!!!
Here's the first try... and the second try.... And the third time is a charm!!!! Man, this thing sounds awesome!!!....As you can see I am the goofy one in the cab.....It has been 2.5 long years, but we did it.....I can't tell you how happy I am that I've done most of this with my own two hands and lots of help from my brother, Dad, and most of all you guys!!!..... Next week....final tuning, mount wheels and tires, alignment, install bench seat....and motor my arse down the road!!! woooohoooooo..... Enjoy
