$500.00 for the truck and only $800.00 for that engine. Great buy. Was the engine out of a wreck? Nice 4x4. I also like that color combination.

No the engine was a crate motor from GM that somebody pulled to upgrade to a big block.

I ended up with a little more than $2k in the whole project by the time I rebuilt the trans, installed a new shifter, etc.

that truck needs a good 10-12 inches of lift, full hydraulic steering system and some 44 inch boggers.

Look at DIY4x.com, they have good prices on great products. Insyead of a block in the rear(which I personally can't stand) you should look into a rear shackle flip and just some shackles up front. Stay away from the body lift if you plan to go off-road with it. It is better to have a lower center of gravity and a good suspension than it is to have all sorts of lift and huge tires with stiff springs and mulitple shocks.

You can run 35's with a 4" lift. You may need to clearance the fenders a little bit if they hit when you turn, but they will go just fine. It also depends on what you plan to do with the truck. The 4.56's are a definite plus, if you are planning un running larger tires.

44's? did anyone read the latest OFF-ROAD magazine issue? they put 47's on their daily driver. wicked!

thats crazy but personally i think everything over 44s are overkill.

I agree, I have 33s on my stock height 79 K5 Blazer and if it weren't for the drivers fender being bent up I wouldn't have any problems running them.

you dont need a 6 inch lift for 35's my buddy has a 1981 silverado and it has a 4 inch lift and it has 35;s and it has no problems once so ever of rubbing, doesnt even come close and he runs a 35x12.50 tire on his truck, so you dont need a 6 inch lift unless you want one and in that case you could run bigger tires just correcting the previous post some one else put up on this thread
