I don't recall exactly what his problem was but it was something simple that affected his "alignment" that's why I suggested doing a search.

Re: Drop Spindles Wont Align

Are you having this problem with both sides or just one side? If it's just one side it may be a bad spindle. If the spindle itself or the tapered holes for the ball joints were machined out of location, this could cause the problem you are having. These are place in fixtures on machining centers and if the casting is slightly different, the alignment in the fixture could throw off the machining operations and thus throw off your alignment. Just an idea......

Re: Drop Spindles Wont Align

Are you using the correct ball joints for the spindles you have? If you have spindles with the tapered holes for the larger ball joints and you are using the pre '70 ball joints, it would allow enough slop to offset the spindle, even if the joint is tight.

Just an idea.

Re: Drop Spindles Wont Align

Some of these frames have a problem with twisting inward at the top of the rail at the motor mount, A frame area. If you replaced your motor mounts brackets with something else or put V8 inplace of 6cyl. you may need to jack up the truck in the center of the cross member and loosen the upper bracket bolts and re-torque them so the frame moves back to the original postion. There is also a Moog "Problem Solver" upper A frame shaft kit that can get you extra camber adjustment without headache of changing the bolts. rockauto has them.

There ya go. I knew someone knew where they are available.
If you like the drop you have now then maybe these offset upper control arm shafts are the answer.

Sounds to me like too tall of springs, new stock springs can be pretty tall. I assume the tires sit like this /....\ right ?? Thats how the tires sit with the engine out, either get shorter springs or drop in a big block to settle it down !!!
